While we on the topic of rolex values..about 10 yrs ago I got a watch for my wife about a month before I ordered new outboard engines. ( old fisherman trick!)
It is a 16978 1979 18k sapphire datejust that was loaded up with 71 vs diamonds on the band and 42 on the bezel. I got it from a rolex trader friend in St Louis who bought it from a Bosnian elite war refugee.
My wife dosent wear it anymore and I would like to sell it to pay for all of my fixings on my 16800. Problem is any dealers want to steal it from me and offer 3-4 grand. Maybe it is worth that but hard to believe. Anyone know different? I am not trying to get full blown retail but at least a fair price.

Needing advice on how to fix my Rolex

Well...we aren’t really on the topic of Rolex valuation. The topic was getting a service for your watch. And it appears you have dealer connections so that topic is covered now.

Welcome to the forum but we aren’t really aimed at doing Rolex valuations.

Much success in getting the Sub fixed.

On the topic of castnetting - what do you cast for?
