European Watch Company

Anyone buy from them before? Wondering if they can source a 5167a in future when I’m ready to buy plus if they charge sales tax. Thanks for any insight.

Not gonna be cheap but I've never heard a bad word spoken about EWC. They're based out of Massachusetts so not sure about the sales tax. I've sold a few watches to them, and visited their shop many times when I lived in Boston.

Thanks for the response. I know it won’t be cheap. I’ve been tracking their inventory and saw they sold 2 5167a the past few weeks. One was without box and papers I believe for $33k and one with complete set for $37k. They have great reviews online.

EWC is great, but not cheap, you can deal a little if a watch has been sitting. My sales associate is Justin, good guy.

Explain “not cheap” like higher $30ks low $40s?

I’d expect EWC to be about 2k or so more than say DavidSW on a 5167a and not be all that flexible on price. Alternatively, on an ALS which EWC tends to carry relatively more stock and sometimes that stock sits, you might be able to negotiate more aggressively with them after a while. Your mileage may vary...

I regularly search the inventories of several grey dealers. Of all of them, EWC is almost always priced highest. DavidSW is most consistently the lowest, though the pricing of any particular watch on any of these websites can be a bit random. There could be other, hidden factors that are involved in pricing, like repaired damage and lack of service history for a somewhat older piece. As always, Caveat Emptor.

Correction: A Collected Man out of the UK is the highest priced grey. In general, EWC is the highest priced of the main US greys. WatchBox is a close second.

Thanks for sharing. I check those greys as well.
