Seriously thinking about getting a 1803 with a champagne dial with the bracelet. @dbhak22 that is what have, correct?

Never thought I would be this interested in a gold watch. There is just something about the 1803 though. I going to a local watch shop in the next couple of weeks to try one on. I go back and a forth if it is too gaudy.

For owners, especially the younger ones, do you get many remarks on your 1803? They usually positive remarks? I know it shouldn't matter. I'm just curious on general public impression of the watch.

I was in the same boat as you but then I decided to go with a leather strap so that it wasnt too flashy.

Yeah. I have gone back and forth about the bracelet. My thought is have the bracelet and I can always put on a strap. The bracelet is what really makes the watch special IMO.

Just remember that the springbars from the bracelet won’t work on a strap with ease and you’ll need to get solid gold springbars for a strap. Stainless springbars will damage a gold case.

Are the springbars solid gold, or are they plated?

Consider white gold - this tunes down the bling factor. Stealth!

Yes sir! The most classic combo in my opinion, :)

Yes, the bracelet makes it flashier but I love wearing it that way with a tee. And it looks less flashy but equally great on a nice leather strap.

Very beautiful set and look perfect on your wrist too.

Mine with the original president bracelet. I think it will look good with the leather too especially the black color leather.

My 1802 with claw markers. I’ve read that the claws were only for French/Swiss markets, izzat so?
English day wheel of course, but that could’ve been changed across the decades ...

I think it never been polished, I found it in very good condition. I was a bit warried from the size, 36 mm was a bit small. I love it now, it is one of the favourite of my collection.
