Full gold jubilee band stretch repair - who can do it ?

Dear Rolex lovers,

I am the lucky owner of a 16018 DJ from 1979/1980 with a full gold jubilee hollow links band.

However, the band is heavily stretched, and I was wondering if the pins holding the links are also made of gold and who could do the job in Europe?

The information is quite easy to find for steel jubilee bands as the knurled bracelet pins are made of steel, but I was unable to find any information regarding the stretch repair for full gold jubilee bands (process and price)

Does anyone have any clue on this specific request?

Cheers

Can’t help you in Europe, but Michael Young in HK did a fine job on mine. People complain about lack of communication and hilariously long wait times, but that’s just how it is.

Wonder if we can get a sticky on bracelet restoration...

TRF community members often request this information for the USA and European nations, not wishing to ship their bracelets internationally.

I bought a wrecked YG Jubilee (I know, I know, my watch box is part kennel) and sent it off to Michael Young in Hong Kong. Took a while and cost a fair bit but it came back looking NEW, it was well worth it.

£200-400 gets it back to being fine and not too overworked (and not too tight they look and feel daft if overtightened) a Company in Leigh on Sea in Essex in UK takes 3 months to get back though if you are in UK .

Goldschmiede Beste in Winterberg Germany is by far the best in the business for gold bracelets. Prices are accordingly.
Still a lot cheaper than buying new and no customs problems

A full gold bracelet will be well over 1000 to have redone. 200-400 is the stainless steel price

Now that is a new one! Well played and also surprised at the cost.

Google search Roberto Toto Lenti, I believe he is in Italy. I follow his Instagram and his work is amazing.

For the life of me I can’t understand why Rolex stopped offering these beautiful bracelets on their DJ’s. Unbelievable.

He’s been too busy to do my last 2 jobs. After several months I just took mine back.
Michael in HK has never disappointed however.
Just my own experiences.

Apparently only Rolleiworks and Michael Young will work on platinum bracelets.

Michael Young quoted me over 6 months for a platinum repair because he only has one guy who knows how to do it and it isn't the usual person who does the gold stuff.

There is still a part of me that thinks, "ooh, platinum", and then I remember that the spot price of platinum is barely more than half that of gold.

Is this still the case? Does anyone have experience with having their platinum president bracelets tightened?
