Are these defects?

I just picked this watch up hours ago, and just looked at the bezel real closely and it appears that the pain on the triangle marker for 24 is faded off as well as paint on the 18 seemed smudged. Anyone seeing this?

A known issue for GMT’S. Some have that some don’t. It looks like faded paint or dirt in the triangle. Try some soap & water and a soft brush/toothbrush, and it may help.

In my experience, it's just oil from fingers touching it. Dishsoap and lukewarm water should remove it.

The engraved numerals on the cerachrome bezel are platinum dusted, so it most likely is not a smudge, but some degree of oil.

Heaps of GMTs have that mark on the triangle. Its usually caused by owners who handle their bezel alot more and place their oily hands and dirt on that triangle which makes it even worse.

I've seen some triangles that look like they are dark gray. LOL

Oil from handling has made the matte finish look glossy. As said, try soap water and soft toothbrush. Should be fine.

However, I have owned a number of the 6-digit GMTs and that triangle (and the numbers) have platinum metal deposited in them. The triangle is large enough that things will touch that platinum and will eventually make it look shiny, as it is rubbed and the matte finish becomes glossy, near the center. It can also be scratched. One GMT had a small scratch across the triangle. It’s gonna happen. Wear it, enjoy it, and congrats on your acquisition! It’s an awesome piece.

Do you mean the red paint on the 24hr hand as can be clearly seen on the left picture ?

If so than that is a defect and hand should be replaced by a new one.

Smudges can be cleaned by water soap, if that doesn't work try alcohol or acetone

If you can't see without a zoomed camera close up picture in bright lights I'd be ok with it.

With a brush you will scratch the watch. soap will damage the seals and orings over time.

Warm filtered water and baby shampoo are the only two things that Rolex should be cleaned with.

Two different watches that I had. Maybe one is different than the other?

I see that too. Maybe we’re not seeing it right. It looks like lots of red missing from it. That’s not good

Is this a serious post.

If it is, let me suggest you put away the magnifier and enjoy that gorgeous timepiece.

Completely agree. Wash it off and it will be good as new.

It’s normal, it happens with my gmt. It’s oil/smudge. It comes off when you clean it.

Normal, mine has it and it looks to be a near perfect inner triangle. Hard to see, only in the right light.
