Just my .02. My watch collection is pared way back these days. Enjoying what I have.
Sorry to burst your bubble but your Hulk has been manufactured and sold for years and years.

There are 1000s upon 1000s of these out and about and anyone can have one if they pay $13.5k-$14k for one. Its not rare or unique.

Your actually wearing one of the most popular and hyped watches around. Not a unique watch in any way form or the sense of it.

Same applies to most Rolex watches. Even the hyped Daytona, and the Pepsi eventually. The Daytona, Hulk, Pepsi, Sky Blue are still the Rolex references any collector will aspire to own regardless of how many produced.

Not really. I know many collectors including myself not interested in half of those references.

I collect for myself not because of hype and definitely NOT for exclusivity.
Rolex and unique/exclusive dont belong in the same sentence especially any modern day Rolex.

Does Rolex need "to dump all their current inventory to make way for the new Sub"?

Yes true. I’m interested in only three, some collectors less, but the majority of collectors will at least want one or two. Doesn’t matter how much is produced. That’s what I meant. Bizcut1 probably meant unique compared to a black Sub, DJ, or other references produced at larger quantities.

After reading this thread yesterday morning, I decided to feel out my AD for a Sub no date. Only experience with them was my DJ41 purchase last year. They were having a gold buying event, so why not sell a couple gold chains while I was there. (Deposit $)

Luckily, my sales lady was there to put my name on the Sub "list" - they couldn't even take a deposit and order one. They had no idea when one would be available.

Two hours later I get the call - "we just got a couple delivered!" WTF!?!

Is this just a coincidence or what?? Are they feeling me out to see how serious I am?
Did they call around to other AD's and find one?

Anyway, I'm heading back Monday afternoon to pick it up. I think.

I'm not seeing any increase, but that's only what I see online and in stores. And not all watches listed in inventory online are in inventory (you bind an offer and then they go buy it lower to flip to you-not everybody, but enough greys do this).

If there are actually more out there, it's more likely due to a slackening in demand after the big holiday period demand. It's not like Rolex just decided to make more subs and less date Justs.

Prices seem stable and MSRP just went UP.

Absolutely not. It is one of the most desired Rolex watches and older references are very popular. If the sub changes, the current one could likely become more in demand, especially if there is a further price increase on a new one.

Personally, my wild ass guess is an updated movement inthe Explorer line. It's a very similar to the GMT in terms of complications and functional use to the wearer. It'd be easiest for Rolex-an incremental update is pretty mush their business model and has been for decades. This would fall into that category. Again, I'm just guessing. Who really knows?

Some of you guys aren’t using your dip stick. It should be obvious to anyone that each watch type is made in a large batch or run. A surge of incomings for that particular model is expected after each run is shipped out.

Ten incomings for a sub does not indicate a new release or discontinuation.

I think there is mounting evidence that it is likely the Sub gets updated at Basel this year.

It would make sense for me that Rolex would not make major changes to the sub (or sub date) until its next milestone anniversary in 2023.

Like those big, sweeping, "I know it all" statements, eh?

You need to go work at Tourneau...you'll fit right in.

Mounting evidence or increased static being transmitted on forums and social media?
