I debated returning the watch to the seller (Macys) but decided to see if it would improve with time or can be regulated better but Seiko said nothing they can do. The company should be embarrassed to make such an inferior movement.

4r36 is a basic work-horse movement from Seiko, which does not necessary means it is accurate...

Acceptable daily deviation is 80 seconds per day (-35 ~ +45 seconds)
Isochronism fault for 0-24h is;
- Dial upwards: ±20 s/d
- 6 o'clock at the top: ±30 s/d
- 9 o'clock at the top: ±30 s/d
Isochronism fault for 24h and later is ±30 s/d in each position.

Seiko Service is right, sorry you probably should read more before making this purchase.
