Did GS just put out more new models?
Am I crazy or did GS just put out new models. I may need that SBGH279. I can't wait to see that in person. That slate looking dial could be very nice.

Yes, 7 new regular product models. Two hi-beats (I really like the SBGH279) and five quartz.

Not sure if this really captures the dial color. Saw it Timeless Luxury's site, and the color looks very different, darker and more grey.

Looks like they’re trying to make available every dial option with every movement with every case with every bracelet.

Its time GS launches some new line or new design. Its always the same watch, just new dials.

They are trying to "capitalize" on their emerging popularity by making every possible combination and shoving it out there. Panerai, Hublot, Omega, Breitling...etc all have done this and the overproduction leads to sell offs, value depreciation and brand erosion. This is exactly how luxury brands fail in the current market. They need to stop and offer "less" otherwise the market will punish them with indifference. |

What about this design, new and refreshingly different. And the year has just started, they'll start slow, the best is yet to come (I believe)

Generally speaking, this isn't going to be good for GS resale values.

The increase in number of references has been met with a negative reaction...that's just here, imagine what the market will think. I cannot fathom why these brands do not understand what the market truly wants. It is very clear, but these brands continue to deflate themselves by overproducing and throwing more and more options at the buyer... The luxury market does not want more options!!!! |

I like that 279 but would need a strong discount to entertain it the way GS handles releases.

GS has several different movements. So, they work to make something for everyone, which means of course they have to cover all of the bases.
You want hi-beat? Auto? Spring Drive? Quartz? Great. You can likely get the dial and case (bracelet to a lesser extent) combo you like, at least with the regular production models. The movement is at the heart of the decision. Personally, I can only applaud such an approach. This isn’t about “luxury market”, business cases and “resale value”, it’s just about good watches. I’m not surprised that there are those in this thread who don’t get that. |

Not trying to be smart but I see 5 identical watches with a different dial. How many dials are available in DJ and DD's ? It so happens each dial gets its own reference at GS. But in reality it is the same watch with a different dial. Their most iconic case no less where they can really use more dial choice and movements. I don't see any 'diluting' at all. GS is doing great and am happy I am fortunate to be able to own a few and am hoping the exciting stuff is yet to come

I still might need that grey dial. Hmmm
Need to see what else’s is on the roster this year from them.

Come on GS. 38mm ultra-thin hi-beat auto, spring drive or manual wind please! The watch-faces aren’t the problem!

Yes, many brands are guilty of this including Rolex. Its the easier way out and sadly reflects a lack of creativity in the industry.

Then what? Btw..I own (3) GS references and will get more, but this overproduction is toxic to the brand. I’m not making this up or stating it to be mean spirited or contrarian, there are multiple cases of luxury brands behaving this way and the outcomes are always the same. Bad. |

I’d be very happy with a manual Spring Drive. The recent LEs were a step in the right direction, but the cases when I tried them on were very meh...

Ok, good looking but not enough to move me to a purchase.
