Who Else Loves Their Five Digit Subs?

Had a few six digits but came to love these. ALL subs are great btw, this is just what’s best for me. How about you?

I love my old 5-digit Sub, my only Rolex. I've been wearing it nearly every day for more than 25 years now, since I bought it new in 1996. It's had two full services, in 2009 and 2019. Never polished. I still have the original box and all papers!

Love my 5-digit that has 4-digit vibes and is also a birth year watch.

When I want to go the "vintage" route with all the benefits of a relatively modern watch, I go with my 16800.

Who Else Loves Their Five Digit Subs?

5 digits are the quintessential Rolex IMO. I bought a Swiss only 16613lb because it’s the watch I always wanted and haven’t taken it off for more than a few minutes for almost a year an a half. Best watch I’ve ever bought and I’m incredibly happy with my purchase. The value right now on 5 digit references is outstanding compared to everything else (I know we don’t talk of “value” here but it had to be said), nothing offers the bang for the buck like a 5 digit Rolex in today’s market.

Four digit for me. Acrylic crystal makes it more visually appealing, IMO.

I wanted a sub half my life but by the time I got around to getting myself one, they had changed. And the new ones just didn't look like what I wanted, what I remembered... Sure, the differences are probably slight to most non watch people but I thought they were enough to matter. Did some research and ended up here, discovered the used market and so on. Still like it better than the 6 digit versions.

6 digits all the way, till one day I bought a Kermit. Been a 5 digit lover ever since, never looked back. Got myself a nice coke 16710 too.

Only issue I have are the 4 fixed links on the 6 o'clock side of the bracelet vs 3 fixed links on the ceramic models. Had to remove a fixed link on the 6 o'clock side to centre the clasp.

16600 been on my wishlist since forever, but the thought of having to remove another fixed link is kinda holding me back from getting one.

I’ve had several subs since the first in 1979 but my 116613LB is by far the best. I’m grateful I got this one with the really good case size and gold text before they were discontinued!

There is something special about the 5 digits that a lot of us love.
I am fortunate to have a couple and this is my favorite.

I had two 6 digit subs before selling them for a 5 digit sub.
5 digits just fit my wrist better.
