Thanks for sharing, very nice account.

I wonder why the original owner decided to part away from such a watch... can you share this piece of info as well?

It is very rare to find such a nice watch with an outstanding provenance, and in that magnific orginal condition in spite of a rather adventurous life of his previous owner.
It looks like his owner respected and cared his watch!
Hope you will care and enjoy this time piece so much as his pevious owner, for many, many years. Great watch, and thanks for sharing its story and photos.
Kind regards, Abel.
He is selling it.

First of all it's Colombians (with o not u), and it's a great country with many things to offer and a great allie to the US.

Mods this is an international forum where comments such as this should not be tolerated. Attacking a country or making fun of war is not a joke, and it's a total lack of respect to the many on this forum who serve in the armed forces.

More and more comments like this are popping up and really do not contribute to the great world of Rolex.

I know this is a old thread but am reading it for the first time. It is an amazing watch. I would love to own such a fine example. Did you ever get rid of it or is it still sitting in your collection.
Thanks for sharing

Jacek started this thread in 2010 so it will have started a new story.....timeless story though...wish I had more provenance on mine....if only watches could talk and not just reflect the passing of time......

I have to question the sanity of the originanl owner - who would ever want to leave UCLA?!?!? Go BRUINS!

But, back to watch talk - cool watch Jacek. Pretty sure it is long sold by now, but thank you for sharing the story. Always great to hear that watches were worn as they were supposed to be, and now hopefully they can spend another adventurous lifetime on someone else's wrist!

Great story. One day I would like one but am not confident enough in my knowledge to be able to pick the right one.

I agree with this comment 100%.

Is there a recognised 'expert' on Subs on the forum?
