I've been good this year but I'm getting restless

I snuck a 5 digit Rolex purchase in in January but apart from that I haven't made any other watch purchases this year. I felt pretty happy with what I have and I've put funds to other things.

Over the summer I've felt kind of restless, strapping one ss piece after another and am really getting the urge to acquire a Day Date. I'd be looking at funding a piece mainly by trading 3-4 pieces and adding some cash.

I am pretty conflicted at the moment, I feel I want to change things up a bit but also almost all my pieces get wrist time. That said, a slimmer collection would suit me fine.

Any input from those have been in similar positions very welcome

Never been fortunate enough to be in that position but if I were you and wouldn’t mind a smaller collection, I’d make it happen. I don’t know how many watches you have but if you can get rid of some you don’t wear and pay none to a minimal amount of cash to get a nice day date, that’s a win-win in my book.

Personally massive fan of pm models, but I’d find it very difficult to let them go if they where all getting wrist time though, I’m exchange for 1. Would you consider a two tone?

New is the next old. Whatever you buy will become stale after a while. Knowing this, you can make a decision.

I've considered two-tone, I like the slate serti dial sub, a bit different but still a sub. I can't decide on the popular root beer, definitely the 16713 but perhaps not the 6 - digit rose gold version.

This is very true. So that's the ultimate dilemma, stay with what you've got or keep moving on. Like many, I feel there's a point of that one killer and I'm out.

That would be nice, I can tell you that I don't have dozens of watches around idle. My collection is 8 so I would be culling ideally 3 plus cash.

I would go for Day-Date, I would rather have one PM timepiece than 3 SS timepieces.

Omg, we might be the same person! . I’ve been restless lately too and debating selling some to buy another. I think I’m just gonna bite the bullet though and buy without selling. Because currently I don’t have that much money tied up in Watches, but it sounds like you might have more money tied up in Watches than I do. This is not a suggestion but it’s an idea, you could go with a tutor date day. I think those look absolutely sick and last I checked they were like 2000? Depending on the configuration you get. I would make sure you still have At least one or two sports models, don’t get rid of all your sports models, you will regret it.

Is your sig updated? If so, that is a pretty solid collection with a lot of variety. That said, if there a a few there that don't get worn and you would wear that Day-Date, then why not?

Also, this forum is not healthy for keeping collections intact.

OP, you're 100% right, yet perhaps not in the way....

Yes to a thin collection, so you need a thin timepiece. You know all those typical round and 8mm+ fatty cases all over your home need a friend, especially one that is different, slender... sexxxy. So yes you're right OP, you also know what you really need to do.

Oof. You just listed 2 of my 'core' collection. The YM and Sub I feel cannot leave! It would be the Speedmaster, Exp II and dare I say, the Sea-Dweller.
