Is this a better trade option? All original B&p, 2019 model. With my DJ I'd need to add $34,000

Before anyone asks I've got 3 other steel watches that I wear more than my DJ so I wanna offload it

I love that one too, but the first one, the Rose gold is my favorite.…Shame the strap is not original though.

Same situation in my neck of the woods, forget about ever getting a Daytona at retail from my local AD, too difficult to come by

So, I sympathize with your situation, and it’s not retail, but those prices with trade are better than what is in the secondary market, and prices will only continue to rise there.

I might actually do that deal if I were you

Good luck with the hunt OP!

Yes sounds like youre into the real OF version so this trade is better. Sounds like you want to get the deal done so go for it and dont look back! But just in case any regrets you can always sell the Daytona in some time.

Thanks mate, although the pink dial is very tempting - it's the old version with the alligator strap (altho they've cut a rubber strap to fit the aftermarket rubber). And plus the pink/yellow gold osyterflex daytonas are going for crazy prices right now, just about everywhere. I compared UK prices along w/hk prices last night on the net

I don’t love that deal, but its a much better deal than the original one.

Dial isn't a big deal because you can do a swap with RSC for the non-meteorite dials. I'd be tempted to go for the diamond baguette if I had a RG OF.

Pretty sure there was no OF Daytona in 2014 and to add I don’t think that dial configuration was available in 2014 on leather, was it?

How about this one: https://www.sothebys.com/en/buy/auct...gold-automatic - although not pink dial but with original rubber

Daytonas of that age came on alligator and are not Oysterflex compatible as they have a different clasp.

You could probably source a brand new OEM alligator (the come in different sizes) for 4,000 HKD

The one in your picture looks like a Rubber B. That's what I put on mine (RG, Chocolate Arabic). Its a great strap and no reason not to buy.

The only reason not to do the deal is if you are not happy with the price.

That isn't original rubber.

That's also a Rubber B strap.

Thanks mate, I did notice that & saw the cut in the strap with the old clasp. With the prices of the new pink or yellow gold iterations climbing so high this may seem like a reasonably priced option, despite the non original strap. Although I'm still debating adding more money and getting the proper newer OF version

I think the OF clasp has an easy link, but to be honest that’s the only advantage I can see (although 5mm adjustment is too much for my wrist)

Otherwise I prefer the Rubber B. Not a huge fan of the “wings” on the OF (which can degrade and with time and the Rubber B offers different style and colour options too.

It’s also easer to get the perfect sizing with the Rubber B as you cut to fit

I just checked - this is the configuration & the watch in question - for all you Daytona experts out there - this watch is dated 2014 with Card but the dealer says the only thing changed is the strap - but has it also had a dial swap? As the pics I see of this 2014 iteration didn't have panda dial but sundials which were also pink not black? Once again, dealer is adamant the dial is original

Thanks, just glanced at their website - they do have the perfect fit for this watch without needing to make extra cuts with a knife

Yep, sorry, should have clarified, they do different strap types depending on whether the watch originally came with alligator or oysterflex

When I bought mine in 2013 there were only 2 dial options for the 116515 - chocolate with arabics or ivory.

However, I've seen a couple with pink panda dials like the one you are looking at for sale dated 2014/2015 so it may be that the pink dial was available at that time for the alligator strap reference - it was in the gold bracelet version.

Edit - do you know if the lume is green (superluminova) or blue (Chromalight)?

Thanks mate, well the pink dial watch has been sold according to the dealer! Even though in the 2-3 days that passed 1-2 days there was a typhoon here in hk which meant 90% shops would close & pretty much ppl would stay at home.

But for the same price as the white dial oysterflex I've managed to find a Paul Newman dial, with papers dated 2018. Thus adding my DJ41 & $34,000 - would you guys do that deal?

I mean tough call, on one hand I love the PN as my top option for YG on the other hand I think the RG has a better option diamond dial to swap to. Id probably go with YG, but go with your pref.

I finally pulled the trigger - went in today to the shop, a bit chaotic but got it sorted out. As I was also in a rush to check into a staycation. Thanks to everyone on this forum, without your input i would have quite easily prob bought the link one in my original post
