Air King 14010 different fonts
I recently bought myself an Air King 14010 dated to 1997-1998. When inspecting the dial and comparing it to images online, I just realized that there are two different fonts out there. See the attached images.
On the blue dial one (which comes with box and papers), the Rolex ”X” looks more bold, the Oyster ”O” looks more oval, and the ”Air-King” text is clearly different, when comparing with the black one. Are both authentic? If not, which one is a replica? |

Back then Rolex did not make or print their own dials. They were contracted out to multiple companies. It may just be a difference between two different dial makers.

I offer no opinion on originality (or lack thereof) for either, but it is interesting how many stylistic differences exist in the words "Air-King".
