Boutique discount

I am a long term Rolex enthusiast, but I am getting more and more interested in Panerai. I know there are a lot of variables, but do the boutiques generally give any discounts?

I’m sure if you are serious to buy, you going to get some discount.

I'm not super experienced with the brand, however my guess would be that any discount you receive would be based on the reference and how in demand it is.

Much depends which reference you’re looking at and where you live. Some boutiques offer more than others. I can score about 12% at ADs in Singapore whereas for the same reference, I would ‘only’ get about 8% at the OP boutique. However, OP boutiques are likely to offer something else like a strap or something, which the ADs might not.

I would only buy from OP Singapore because they have looked after me like no other. The service there is incredible. I went back and forth of a couple of months before pulling the trigger and built up a relationship before buying. It seemed to work very well for me.

No discount at Boutiques, free swag and straps maybe but never discounts. In fact I wish they would do away with AD'S altogether and their sleazy practices.

I tried to get a discount at the boutique in Toronto on a 233, the best they would do for me was 4%. Wow. Did not buy from them.

I suppose on less popular models that are usually window dressing a deal could be had.

Unless you’re looking for a boutique only model, this isn’t the time to buy a PAM at retail. The market is soft for the brand and a lot of deals can be had, even on popular references. Shop around before buying.

Like I said, it depends where you are. T.I.A (this is Asia) and negotiating, haggling, call it what you will, is part of the culture. It is what it is.

I didn’t get a discount on my 689 or 737, unsurprisingly given that they’re LEs, but I was stacked with goodies

The best I could get was 15 % in KL. Then you could get 4.8 % tax refund.

Do yourself a favor and research all buying options. For the purchase of a non-LE model you should be in the 20% off msrp. Most AD's will not consider that unless you have a long standing relationship but it can be done. Also, when you decide on which model you want, contact a few Trusted Sellers and ask what the trade value is. If they will take the watch, several will not, it will probably be at about 50% of original retail. I have just purchased a Panerai 422 and really like it. I got a fair deal on it and understood the resale/flip value. I am having a lot of fun with it and I like the strap game.

Boutique for a great experience and service, AD for better price if you are willing to bring your haggle game. Grey market if you want best price w/o Manufacturers warranty.
