Hello from UK

Hi all
I have been enjoing swapping watches - have Dior eight (black ceramic), Chanel J12 (white ceramic), Bvlgari Serpentine (snake around the wrist), Fendi crazy time, etc....

Now retired from being accountant (since UK government announced 55years old can get hands on pension!), and just becoming 55years old next month, I have decided to buy my first Rolex for my 55 years birthday present to myself. Hubby is buying birthday holiday to Barbados so I cannot complain...

I looked at Rolex site and fell in love with 2017 model of Datejust 28/Pink Dial/Smooth bezel/Oyster bracelet/Roman dial (279160). Went to shop to see but a lady at Selfridges told me Fruited bezel/Jubilee bracelet combination is more Rolex Datejust and much more beautiful and everybody recognise it as Rolex.

I know it's my choice in the end and anyway I don't think if I would like to be 'recognised' - ie. sign to be mugged in London. Do you guys want to be 'recognised??'

I am also interested in Datejust 28/White or Sun dust dial/smooth bezel/oyster bracelet/roman dial, with steel & rose gold combination (279161-022 or 002).

If anybody has any comment or suggestion I'm all ears....

Many thanks in advance from UK (Japanese married British, living in UK 28years)

Hi and congrats. I'd say don't worry about being spotted. For years I thought people were wearing rolexes till I realized Michael kors does same design! Keep it covered in places where you wouldn't want it to be spotted and get one! But that's just me

Welcome and I know what you mean. One of the things I like about my 42mm Explorer 2 is the fact that it is under the radar. People don't look at and immediately think Rolex! I say buy what you like though because you will be the one looking at it the most! I know I check the time much more when I am wearing it...any excuse really...
