Air King 5500 Thoughts

I just picked up an all original AK5500 with all the bits and pieces to rectify my mistake in selling a blue dialed 5500 I flipped a few years back. In my opinion, the AK5500 is a heck of a watch for those of us with more delicate wrists. It looks terrific on a strap too.

I'm having a tropic 12 put on this one as soon as the part arrives. The current crystal is a bit warped so a change is needed.

Please share your AK5500 if you've got or had one.

I have a few 5500's and am still fascinated with the many permutations of movements and dial types, and they all run like tanks, enjoy yours!

The 5500 with the silver dial should go into some sort of Rolex Hall of Fame. So many were made and most are probably still around.

Sadly, I've got a blue dial AK 5500 with the paint all torn out because of the tritium dots, and just can't find a way to swap the dial for that GORGEOUS LINEN DIAL you've got right there! Any ideas?

Looks very good!
I like the fact its got the right finish on the lugs (which are nice and fat).
Big fan of vintage 34mm rollies...great on leather to go with a suit.
