1 Rolex or 1 Omega and 1 Tudor????
I've been trolling on here for quite some time now. I'm finally in a place in my life where I can purchase a Rolex. However I have been looking at Omegas as well lately. If I were to purchase just 1 Rolex it would be the GMT Batman. I'm truly in love with that watch. If I were to go the other route I would buy an Omega Moon Watch and I'm uncertain what Tudor I would buy. I had even thought about buying 2 Omegas. I have been to my AD a few times now trying on various models of Rolex watches and the fit and finish on them are just incredible. My question for you guys is would you buy 1 Rolex or 2 other nice watches? Thanks for any help

I may be biased, since I have the latter. I went with the Omega Moonwatch, and then chose a Tudor Black Bay in house to go with it. I think they make a fantastic combination, particularly for somebody who is looking for at least a little bit of variety.

The BLNR can be my one and only watch. I also have a 116610lv and that's not been getting much wrist time compared to the BLNR.... BUT if you hate scratches on your watches then the BLNR wouldn't be for you as the PCL are scratch magnets

That Batman will be worth more in the long run but enjoying a speedy and maybe a pelagos would be a "dynamic duo" in itself! ;)

This is a Rolex forum, what advice do you think you'll get here ?
You already said, you love the Blnr ,so go with that. If you don't ,you'll always regret it. Best of luck. |

PCL's can be brushed if one is so inclined. I've been in this boat before and have had both Omega and Tudor and while both make a fine watch they didn't scratch the insatiable itch of knowing what you truly want is still out there. Given the choice of 2 vs 1....well I'd have to go with the single piece as its got the crown on the dial and is the one you likely are going to strive toward getting later anyways. That's my short .02 on the topic, I hope it helps you a little with your decision.

1 Rolex or 1 Omega and 1 Tudor????
This is a decision that should be easily answered by trying on each of the models you're considering. Be sure to try them on in different conditions (e.g., work clothes vs. casual clothes) and try to think -- realistically -- how you'll use them in your day-to-day.
I went through several Speedmasters only to conclude that it just wasn't the watch for me. And the process of going from a ceramic Dark Side of the Moon to an almost-vintage 3572.50 cost me money and time. I ended up with the watch that I should have purchased in the first place -- a Rolex GMT Master II BLNR -- and couldn't be happier (aside from the financial costs I incurred along the way There is no wrong answer here; only the right answer for you (and your wrist). Make a decision based on how they wear and now how you like them in photos. Good luck! Oh, and no thread is complete without photos... |

1 Rolex or 1 Omega and 1 Tudor????
Isn't this easy? You said you were in 'love' with the Rolex, but didn't say anything as strong about the Omega and unnamed Tudor. Better to get what you love then settle and be thinking about what you didn't get.
Nothing wrong at all with the Omega (all time classic watch), but I'd rather have 1 watch that sings to me (I hate that expression, but f##% it) than 2, or even 10, that I just kind of like. I learned that lesson the (financially) hard way. |

The Speedy/BB combo is hard to beat. That and I am not a huge BLNR fan.

BLNR hands down. The alternative is like having 2 Tesla instead of 1 Ferrari or McLaren

You definitely have to buy the Rolex. If you buy the Omega and see the Rolex, you’ll feel like you missed out on something you wanted. If you buy the Rolex and see the Omega, you’ll simply think ‘ya, someday’. You won’t have that missing out feeling.
Another scenario, if you buy the Rolex it will be easier to save and add the other laters. If you buy the Omega and Tudor it will be tougher to get the Rolex later because of the cost. Believe me, I went through this same thought process 2 years ago. I have a Sub no date and love it. It’s my one and only. Maybe someday the Omega will come, maybe not. But I’m happy and not feeling as though I missed out on something Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I had the BLNR, Speedmaster Moonwatch and also the Black Bays. If I were to do it all over again, I'd choose the BLNR route.
Also I wouldn't worry about scratches on the PCL. It'll happen. There's nothing you can do about it. Just wear the watch and enjoy it! Hairlines are just part of wearing and enjoying your watch. Hard dings on the other hand... ouch. |

I have the exact two watches and they are a great pair. Chronograph and diver. All you need.

Sounds like you answered your own question. If you love the BLNR, don't settle with a Speedmaster and a Black Bay

Have all 3 (picked up the speedy from DavidSW this past Friday), and agree w many above. Would get BLNR now (if you can), then save for speedy next followed by B.B.

The thing about true grails is that they won't stop nagging at you. You only think that you'll be able to live with the two other watches instead of the BLNR. For me it wouldn't be the BLNR but trust me whether you get it now or later you'll still be wanting it and eventually you'll get it. Best to get it now and avoid trading and losing on the trades.

get the blnr.
it'll eat at you until you do, and you can always revert back since a bb and speedy seem to always be available. |

1 Rolex or 1 Omega and 1 Tudor????
Quote:
You haven’t actually explained why you are thinking of the Omega/Tudor selection over the Rolex. The advice you get might be more considered if your reasoning was explained, otherwise if might just boil down to brand loyalties, and as someone said, this is a Rolex forum. Also, I think you might have been lurking here for quite some time now - trolling is a completely different thing, and not particularly welcome. |

1 Rolex beats the others. You will be settling (and not satisfied) by not just buying the Rolex first. You will save money in the long run......trust me, I know the hobbie.

Buy the Rolex. You won’t be happy unless you do. It will cost you in the long run when you flip the Omega and Tudor for the BLNR!
