Icon17 Response to request for 1601 DateJust Pics

My 1971 Model 1601 Rolex DateJust Stainless & Gold with Champagne Dial on Crock Leather Strap. In excellent condition!! Classic in my opinion. I own a Stainless and Gold Submariner and do like it very much. But not more than my two 1601's.

Wow, I started this thread a couple of years ago and just came back to see how many views it's had - wow! So there is still love for the old datejusts!

I love the DJ. The way it feels and wears on my wrist is close to perfection.

Here's a pair of 16013 Datejusts I just purchased for my folks, who've been together for 35 years.

My dad's blue arabic one is dated 1985 and my mom's champagne one is dated 1986. Both came with boxes and open papers.

I feel blessed to be in a position to gift them these beauties.

in the age of smartwatch, I just decided to get this one and I do not regret so far: simplicity and beauty.

I never set out to be a Datejust collector, these were just Rolexes that talked to me at various times over the years.

Did you change those crystals out to not include the cyclops, or was that original to those years/models?
I like it!

New to me is this 1969 Datejust 1601. Technically my first Rolex (though I had one gifted from my father in law years back and I'm looking after for him), and I've been enjoying this for a scant two weeks.
