VC Overseas Dual Time - AM PM issue

Two months into a love affair with my 7900v I noticed both hour and minute hand got stuck at 11:41 AM. Seconds hand still moving.

It had also happened a few days earlier, but I thought I had somehow messed up setting the time.

I contacted the boutique and they said they could fix it and asked to drop it off for diagnostic. it went into the boutique yesterday to be checked by watchmaker and now waiting to see what happens.

I am sure I read somewhere (can’t find it here though) that others had run into a similar issue and it had something to do with the switch over from AM to PM indication.

Anyone else experience a similar issue with their Dual Time? Was it resolved?

Very disappointed as it was instantly my favourite daily wear.

Look at the official overseas thread, the last 10 posts or so are about this exact issue.

Thanks - sorry, yes, now I see (Must have missed it between all the blue dial appreciation posts). Seems manageable.

Hi, is your case number 142xxxx or prior? They say 143 and later batches fixed the issue in factory before arriving boutique.

Yes, 138xxxx, so seems like it is still part of this issue.

According to the above thread the issue appears to be resolved & should not be a consideration if buying a new watch. The black dual time IMO is one amazing watch

Based on the discussions and other comments it sounds like I was unlucky to pick up an earlier version that sat unsold with the AD for quite awhile.

Also from the thread mentioned it sounds like others in a similar position to me got a relatively quick fix so hopefully it is just bad luck for me and hopefully it will be resolved quickly.

If that is the case then it is great news. I have a reasonable collection across Rolex, Patek, ALS AP and a few other brands and the Overseas is the one that I struggle to take off my wrist.

Also the service from the VC boutique has been really great.

I have the silver dial and it is incredibly versatile in terms of the options for strap changes.

Thank you - will update the thread once I get an update from the boutique - they have the watchmaker onsite so I am hopeful that they can resolve it quickly.

The blue rubber and tan straps really look great with the silver dial.

Thanks, so it's better to buy a new one instead of pre-owned.

I saw DavidSW has pre-owned blue dial for sale on TRF classified section.

This is one great looking and versatile timepiece!
I think the blue dial version somewhat diminished how good the overall design is for this dual time overseas (blue is gorgeous though). The silver sun burst dial looks fantastic.

Ask him for the serial number?

From what I've seen in pics, the black DT is gorgeous & a watch I'm considering

Update:

Watch was away for two weeks and was delivered back to me today and apparently all resolved. Obviously will need to give it some time to confirm that, but hopefully that is the end of that, which is a relief.

Despite the disappointment of running into a major issue, the fix seems to have been quick and the service from the VC boutique was excellent. I could not get into the boutique today as the city centre was closed off for a marathon - when I told the boutique manager I could not make it over today he sent one of the SAs in a taxi to deliver the watch back to me.

Glad to hear you had a quick turnaround & were pleased with the experience!
