How to add a USA 1972 Jubilee link

I just received 1601 from my birth year (1972) and sourced a link. It has a USA oval link bracelet. However, I’m not familiar with these types of links. It seems to have a small spring bar pin. I was hoping to do this myself as I do with my oyster bracelets but I may have to take this one in.
Any advise for getting it done at home before I drive down to San Francisco?

You should be able to use the same spring bar release tool as for the bracelet. It is a little more tricky to place the extra link in there but doable. If there is no other extra link on either side then you will only be able to add it to one side by knocking out the set pin that attaches to the clasp and also securers two of the center links. if you want to add it to the other side then you may need a jeweler, which is what I did. This is a pic of the end that I was unable to install the extra link on. I think they placed it backwards but such is life…
