Are Land Rover Defenders a piece of crap....
As I've mentioned here before, I owned a 1987 Jeep Wrangler while living in LA with which I was able to entice the chicks into with relative ease, like I was offering them candy. CHICKS LOVE JEEPS. I pull up to a bar and walk in and they're fighting over me and ripping off their clothes, just to get a ride. My candy budget plummeted. Just no longer necessary.
I got laid so many times not because of my incredible good looks, or my charming personality but simply because I drove a Jeep. When I moved to LA I had a different ride and I was basically shunned by women. Then one day I bought a Jeep, a flannel shirt, a denim jacket and the rest is history. And as further proof, that's how I met my wife. She loves Jeeps. The only reason she went out with me was because of my Jeep. She saw through all my BS and eventually agreed to marry me, and life was good. But stupid me, in 1995 I sold the Jeep and bought a Ford Explorer. I never got laid again. For years. Until I wised up and bought my 2005 Jeep Wangler. Then the smile returned to our faces. Life was good and there is a lesson in here somewhere. But it's not easy, one has to, or at least before they became soccer mom Jeeps, one has to compromise on a lot of things. The ride sucks, the handling sucks, the noise sucks, and when they're stock, they suck. Until you jack them up and put some decent wheels and tires on them, no chick will even look at you. Or if they do, it's merely to shake their head with pity. You look like a newby at a nude beach. However, once you sell your Rolex and use the money to accessorize them to death, and are bumping down the highway with your hair flying, and the wind drowning out the stereo, you can look over at people in their 70 thousand dollar Euro-boxes and smile...knowing, ha, ha, I still get all the babes. It's just an absolute babe magnet. Obviously I'm the exception, but you rarely see good looking guys driving Jeeps, BUT look over to the passenger seat and the women sitting there are definitely hot and smiling. Every time. And don't get me started on the women that buy their own Jeeps. They have to fight off the guys with Mace that constantly follow them around. Sometimes it looks like a parade. There are even websites dedicated to chicks with Jeeps. google it. So my question is, is the Land Rover Defender, just a Euro version of a Jeep Wrangler with bad handling and a shitty ride, and do the women really dig it. Because damn, they're a cool looking vehicle that we don't really see here. I realize that Brits don't have summer so you rarely see Defenders with the tops off, but they're still look like cool vehicles, all British and buttoned up. So what's the scoop. Some viewing pleasure for you. https://defendergirls.tumblr.com/

Quality prose I quite enjoyed it
Yes old defenders are definitely chick magnets as well. I would argue the reason that most of these average looking guys driving modded jeeps have hot women is that those modded jeeps run 75-100k these days They are rich-ish.

Jeeps haven't been real Jeeps in decades.

TFLTruck on YouTube just bought a new one and they've had nothing but problems with it. They're cool though. I've never had a British 4-wheeler...mostly because of the stories about reliability. I'd tell you to look at the 4Runner, or Lexus GX if you want more up-market.

The only hot chick sitting in a Prius is because the battery exploded.

Did you ever hear about the massive Prius recall? Apparently, Toyota shipped all of them with the radio stuck on NPR. Most owners never noticed.

This is mine when i first got it. Done a bunch of mods to it now so looks quite different. New defenders are fantastic. Modernised now so there comfy to drive finally and there still great off road. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

I would imagine they are like any other Rover; if you make sure someone else owns it when the warranty expires, then you should really be able to free up your mind to enjoy the complimentary loaner car (and service advisor friend) that typically comes with it.
Some of the best roadside assistance in the industry, too, so you could have all of the bases covered.

So in the link (I definitely recommend taking a minute and browsing) I noticed most all were old Defenders and not a single one was the new iteration. Albeit I may have been distracted and missed one while I was trying to get my tongue back in my mouth.
I notice around my area most of the dudes that drive Jeep’s are in their late 40’s- early 50’s and usually ride with the top on and all the windows down while having the entire back window covered with stickers telling you how tactical they are. I do know two very stunning women that are Jeep girls. The vehicle with the most probability of having a hottie in it is a G-wagon or full size Range Rover or the obligatory soccer mom small suv (usually an Audi or Infiniti) in my area. Perhaps all those ladies were mechanics and were working on the vehicles.

Hah!! I’ve actually had some alcohol stimulated conversations with buddies about how amazing it would be to find a smoking hot female mechanic. Even partaken in some very informative internet searching to find one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Amusing post, @Blansky. Your mad lovin' skills are only matched by your modesty.
I am curious though, what you meant by this:

A newbie at a nude beach is often a standout, and perhaps doesn't fit in. And if you have a dirty mind. Keep it to yourself. Some of here are civilized.

I know....I know but not all of us were born in 1920. Some of us were the second greatest generation, or was that the third.....whatever.

Love this post. I'm a huge fan of the classic Defender. I remember trying to convince the wife we should get one for weekends. Baby we could go places no one has ever been before with that car. Then she said great but if no one has been that's probably because there's nothing to do there so I don't want to go as well.

Thats why I love her and I had a big laugh. She's probably right. Travelling for us means flying to a different continent and I'm not an off road kind of guy so after the honeymoon phase it would probably gather dust on the garage.

I just spent 10 minutes with more attention on the link and I’m of the opinion you must work for Land Rover because I’m totally debating snatching up the next old defender I see just to take pictures of my old lady in it. I wonder if there’s a bronco girls account floating around somewhere?
