Great write up I appreciate all your input for a guy like me who is as close as you can get to pulling the trigger. One question with all your adjustments I am assuming are pretty much done is there much or any side to side motion due to the height? Your pics look like it was made for your wrist. Thanks for your feedback it is much appreciated.

I avoided getting a Submariner for a long time...

gave in and got the SD43 and I love it! Mine says hello

Awesome write up and some great photos. Like you, I really enjoy my SD50...it’s the perfect diver imo. Have had mine for 8 months now and I’m still marveling over how incredible this watch is.

None. It doesn’t sit very high compared to any other 42mm diver. I believe it’s 15mm thick not counting the cyclops. That’s in the everyday watch catagory for most. Both my Breitling and Panerai are the same thickness. Where the SD50th stands out is it’s ballace. Everything is in perfect proportion for its size.

I love mine as well - just a perfect watch.

Only thing I have noticed is that against atomic clock, my watch is gaining 8-10 seconds per day, which is way outside COSC and Rolex standards.

I don’t know if that will get better with time, or I need to take it to RSC for adjustment.

Congrats on the SD43 Mystro. Really looks at home on your wrist. Just wondering about your LVc as I don't see it in your collection photo?

Great write up and pics! Thank you for sharing.

I’m with you on SD50/SD50th, as I like how that celebrates the anniversary status and history of this Sea-Dweller (the watch is so much more than its 43 mm size).

Great review and photographs. I started with a Submariner more than 25 years ago and have owned all of the Rolex Dive watches over the years in every metal. The SD43 is what I always wanted from Rolex, a larger, well proportioned diver. And it is. I like the size, bracelet, bezel, movement, dial, red text and even the cyclops. The only thing I can say is that it costs more than a decent amount for me but it is well worth it. Enjoy.

Well that doesn't seem right at all. Most, if not all, postings I've read rave about the accuracy. I also have experienced fantastic accuracy on my SD43.

That’s way too high. Your watch is easily capable of beating the new Rolex standard of +2 to –2. Make sure you check it to a new time source like the free app “Emerald Sequoia” from the Apple store or “clocksync” from Android. Both of these apps are well respected as a WIS time checking source. Give em a shot with a full wind of your SD50th.
