Buying a recent Rolex? If that is the case, then it is the full set or the highway. There is no point compromising on this.

Omega moonwatch is ok, not so sure about Breitbling, unless you can afford some serious depreciation.

It's up to you. I really don't care for box n papers But to the collector, it's gold. Keep in mind it will add 20%-25% to the price on a vintage watch. About 10% for a non-vintage.

Huge fan of the Moonwatch. I will get one myself in the near future. I think it's a must to own for most watch aficionados. So iconic and such a classic. I don't care for Breitling other than the Navitimer.

All my Rolex have box and papers btw but if I was buying a 20 year old air king it wouldn’t matter. You will get a new service card from RSC when you get it serviced and they will be like papers. You can look up a box from eBay and buy it and have a full set. Good luck.

No offense taken at all; I'm new to this hobby and that's pretty good information. The older box is cool. But not critical to me as much as a better deal on a quality watch.

My house was burglarized a couple of years ago.

Lucky I was wearing my Rolex at the time. They stole the box and papers.

Anyways, I sent my watch to RSC and they gave me a replacement warranty card and invoice from AD for the service cost.

So, box and paper to me is not so valued as I rather get it directly from AD/RSC as long as watch is legit.

Nice to have but not a deal breaker if the watch is correct.

B&P are a must have for collectors.
Without them you’ll buy the watch cheaper and in case you want to sell it, you’ll sell it cheaper.
So relatively the watch retains the same value.

Personally if I could get them I would, I just prefer complete items. This is why I buy new.

For me the most important bit is the actual watch condition whether any service history, and not in most cases a cheaply made box and outdated warranty. While some must have, myself would never pay extra for them, unless it was say a rare vintage watch, and not a modern day Rolex made in there millions..
