Acquired a Sub 168000

Hi all

Just bought from a 70 year old nice German man a Sub 168000 which he bought new but doesn't wear anymore. He had it serviced in Switzerland in 2011 but has hardly worn it since.

He had a black Rubberb strap on it but had the original bracelet with end links and pins etc all stored in a litlle plastic bag so I'm just back from my friendly watchmaker who changed it for me.

It's an R597xxx serial and the extra 0 in the 168000 is all lined up and correct as I see some discussion about people faking the last 0.

Pics from my phone at the watchmakers shop are not too clear unfortunately and the un manicured fingers are his not mine before I get any comments.

Unfortunately no box or papers but as I only paid the equivalent of just under 6,000 USD I thought it a good deal.

Now to save for the Daytona I like.......

Mmmmm, my pics are too big, any easy way to resize ?

I own a Rolex 168000 with case R597355 and it was stolen from my apartment in New York in 2012. So I am still searching for it.

Filed a police report, filed a report with the lost watch register and reported the theft to Rolex service.

Thanks for your response and enjoy your beautiful and special Submariner.

I have 3 watches I wear and wore the Sub when I bought it for a month or so then put it in my safe and wore my others.
I decided to wear it again last week but while wearing it a small amount of mist/moisture shows in the middle of the glass. When I take it off at night it clears up, it only mists when I am wearing it. I never bathe or swim in it.
Before I take it to a watchmaker I thought I would ask you knowledgeable folk if anyone had experienced similar.
