Could someone please explain or show through pictures how exactly the bezel locking system works.

U see those lines? It’s the top locking mechanism... u basically squeeze that in and it flips open. |

As an update, I asked my AD to see if they could fit a bracelet on and was told they were unable to do so without some significant modifications.

“The Claw” sure is an interesting timepiece, but I think it’s not for me right now.
Have a good day.

Popped into my AD last Friday for a coffee and catch up, not expected until Decmber now. However I was assured I will get a call as soon as one lands.

Any aftermarket strap will have to be fitted to that first Stainless Steel link and it looks like a 20mm will be required. Distressed military green canvas is my first thought!

Looks to me like you could replace the strap with any strap with a matching lug width. Or a straight end bracelet like a milianese, shark mesh, etc. There are some third party oyster bracelets out there with straight lugs as well. The first “link” that goes into the “shroud”.... not sure how that connects but if it is also via a removable spring bar then Black Bay bracelets and old 5 digit Rolex beacelets may fit since they use the older style of separated end links where the first true link goes into the end link with a little extension, rather than the new style end links that are integrated into the first bracelet link. This is why a Black Bay 58 bracelet can be worn on vintage subs or vice versa (eg. I wear my 58 on a 93150). The guy thinking he could stick his Explorer I bracelet on there... nope. That won’t work. Mine was delivered in the U.K last week, couldn't pick it up Saturday so picked it up yesterday. Must admit while I do love the watch as of yet I am a little unsure over the strap. Would definitely prefer this on a fabric NATO. Hopefully soon I will be able to get one.

I've pondered the same thing. From pictures, it looks like the North Flag bracelet might be able to attach to the end-links on the P-01. If so, the brushed NF bracelet would go very well with the brushed metal of the watch.
If the NF bracelet fits, then so would the Pelagos rubber strap. |
