Pepsi 1675 GMT Date Disc Query
This is my 1675 Pepsi GMT, S/N 3.3mil
Quick question, is this watch fitted with a brushed, or painted silver date wheel and is it correct for this watch? Cheers. |

Is that an example of a painted date disc?

Insert isn't correct. I'd worry much less about a date wheel and concentrate more on having a correct bezel insert - depends what your priorities are.
I'll see if I have a correct date wheel from the early 1970s and post a photo.

That would be greatly appreciated! Plus a photo (or link) to the correct bezel-insert would be greatly appreciated.

@Springer already wrote an authoritative thread on inserts. I'm sure you can dig it up with a little searching. Should be required reading.

https://www.rolexforums.com/showthre...ghlight=insert I did go through it but found it difficult to correctly identify which insert is appropriate for my s/n:3.3mil Pepsi? |

Which begs the question... which generation of GMT is my insert? I can confirm that it has a red back (if that helps). |

I've located what I think is an appropriate insert for my circa '73, s/n:3.3Mil Pepsi GMT. Can I request confirmation from the vintage community?

Look correct, I’d prefer some fade to it that’s all personal preference

@Trog
Don't understand the faded insert craze. If you're restoring a vintage bike/car, would you like to have it with faded and peeling paint? Get the local correct colored insert, don't follow the fashion. You'll feel like you have a proper GMT. I got a non faded one and saved the original from 1973. You decide! |

I understand the appeal of a “new” look on a vintage watch however I own a 1675 with an original faded insert and I think if you live with it a while you really start to appreciate it more every day.

Here you go twitch! Two different inserts, two different stages of insert fading.

Sorry for the poor picture, maybe not appealing, but not skinny. And it's a proper red back. |
