Rhodium dial with fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet is an awesome combination! I think that particular watch is going to be the next hot piece.

Again, a picture of each on your wrist by itself would help a lot....

But judging by this pic, the DJ wins

I like the royal oak, but the Rolex fits your wrist a lot better

I sure hope you’re right!

I have a 36mm super jubilee, rhodium Roman dial, with fluted bezel

15400 has a lot of wrist presence. I had one and ended up feeing a bit to formal and precious. I even fee that way about-a DJ with jubilee and flutted bezel. My DJ 41 is smooth and oyster.

I don't think either watch is out of place on your wrist, so it depends really on your taste and your budget.
I currently own both. Just got the DJ the other day from a forum seller. Was considering selling the AP because i thought it looked a bit big on my wrist but I think I'll keep it

Both are too large, but the AP works with your ink.

A DJ on jubilee over ink just looks goofy to me.

Both look too big on your wrist in my opinion. I say a 36mm DateJust would fit fine. I have a 7 1/2 wrist, and I wear a SS 36mm DateJust, and a SS Submariner Date. If I had a choice between the two, I would go with the AP. The 41mm to me doesn’t look right for that style watch.

Would like your thoughts on these two watches

Owned both. A DJ 41 and a 15400. I thought both were too large and I have a pretty big wrist. Too much surface area on the dials.

The finish work on the 15400 was amazing though.

As you can see. The 36 looks the best. Or at least it does to my. It feels like it fits. And that is the most important part of wearing a watch for me.

The AP is far too big. The DJ is simply too big. A DJ 36 would be perfect for your wrist.

Honestly. I think the OP should go with a 34mm Date. 36 is still going to take up too much space on his wrist.

I'd encourage you to acquire the AP. Both are nice looking and well made, however the AP is far less pedestrian.

Not a useful pic to judge since both watches are sitting in unnatural places on your wrist.

I used to have an AP 15400, but flipped it last year. Found myself too paranoid to scratch it and had the black dial which I wasn't in love with.

Perhaps check out the Jumbo as it is a smaller size?

Based on your photo, the datejust looks better.

Both are fully appropriate for your wrist size; wrist shots are incredibly misleading but the lugs are within your wrist, which is a quick sanity check for me.

If the substantial price difference isn't a factor, the AP is unquestionably in a different league. Sure, it's prone to scratches, but so is the Datejust. The PCLs on the DJ scratch the second you strap the watch on your wrist (assuming you actually WEAR the watch); the fluted bezel is gold and prone to dents. AP actually looks pretty great with a bit of patina from daily wear ; furthermore since the AP is so angular and striking as a whole, only you will ever notice the scratches unless you take a chunk out of the thing.

Datejust is a great watch, no question. But it's not an AP.
