I have written a thread about this somewhere. Having two pm (wg) pieces in my collection, the weight isn’t an issue after the first 10mins of wearing the watch, one forgets. Secondly, the dials available on certain pm pieces are unique to pm (blue is a good example). Any logical person who does not succumb to the “ceramic LN hype” would go the pm route.

[QUOTE=Solo118;9309223]This topic comes up often, and it is sad but true that the SS 116500 has hit an all time high. How long will it last? I do not know, but whoever goes for PM over SS has made a smart move.
I respectfully disagree. The SS will always be in greater demand than the more niche PM pieces and in turn the prices will continue to remain steady or slowly creep up. This isn’t going away anytime soon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The PM pieces have really crept up in price recently. So they're about 10k more than SS now.

This concern with PM is silly. How much gold is in the watch and what’s that valued at?

I was considering selling and paying the diff for a 116519 but with the way things are going I wouldn’t do the trade if it were even. The prices seem to be only be going one way. People say go pm but as we have seen the most valuable Daytona’s are the SS like the PNs, BigReds, Zenith etc.

I paid retail but is a fool a fool at 24k if it hits 30 soon? I recall someone saying that when they were 18k or around there. Only thing that will stop this trend is a recession. I’d prob hold off after today’s stock market drop lol.

If I ask an AD to put me on the list for a Daytona and he says ''it's 10 years'', will I actually have one in 10 years (even after an update which will reset everything again)?

The additional material value in a PM watch is negligible anyway (less than $5k) so value is almost entirely dictated by what people want. Even if the stainless ceramic was $5,000 more than a two tone or full gold Daytona, I'd still buy the steel one.
The only PM Daytona I'd take over a stainless Daytona, to keep, is the Platinum.
