Mine only comes off for pictures. In the 4 1/2 months I've had it and worn it 24/7 it has settled in nicely at +.5 SPD. Already has travelled through 3 continents and the GMT complication is $money$.

Since there's nothing really new about the BLNR, except the bezel, I will just say that I like the bezel colors and the way light plays off of it.

It's a great variation of the already established 116710.

Also, I like the fact that at least in this part of the country, it's still a very rare watch. No more than two have been sold in New Mexico and it's still possible I'm the only person in New Mexico to own one. I know my AD would give his left arm to get a case of them, he's getting so many calls for one.

Damn. I'm starting to think about another purchase. The 116710BLNR GMT is becoming a consideration. I haven't even seen one in person yet. These pics I see here are enticing, and pics rarely do justice to a piece. I'm starting to perspire. I'm getttting ascared, as they say in my homeland. Wife doesn't know yet. I don't think, she knows yet?

Can't believe I missed this thread. Love the BLNR. Got mine last year for a birthday/Father's Day present and love it today as much as I did when I received it last year.

This piece is still pretty hard to come across in this area. I have only seen one other individual wearing one. Have not seen any displayed at AD's since just after Christmas of last year. I consider myself very lucky to have this amazing timepiece. One of the very best SS Rolex watches ever made.

You are right that it may not be anything new, but to me it just coincidentally happens to be my favorite shade of blue. I love the bezel color and the blue 24 hour hand. I also feel that it is not a very flashy watch with a conservative splash of color. I love this watch.

I have a ceramic sub and a blnr, I favor the BLNR because of the multiple colors. Only thing I wish it had was the glidelock clasp.

GMT II BLNR or batman owners

Nice pic, Grady! Your original post though echos why I am kind of shocked at the popularity to date of this piece. I also figured most people love Rolex green and other colors rather than some random blue color which happens to be my favorite color.

Whatever it is, it's certainly been a successful design and I'm glad to have gotten mine when I did. Not that anyone except a WIS would ever notice and I can't say that I know who cares.

Only flaw I have found is that I do find the blue GMT hand a bit challenging to see sometimes.

As for availability, I went to three different AD's before I found the BLNR and purchased the last one available. They said they received 3 over the weekend and all were sold by Monday. Hopefully you won't have any trouble!

I like the concept of the Black part of the bezel representing night time and the Blue part representing day time. It really makes a lot of sense and in designing the BLNR that way, for me, among the other watches in the GMT line, it represents and defines the GMT the most. Normally, I would choose the Daytona over any GMT or any Rolex watch for the matter as it is my favorite Rolex watch. That was until the BLNR came out. Now, I like them equally and are both my favorite Rolex watches.

The BLNR has a mesmerizing lume besides a blue/black ceramic bezel.
