He lived a great life so congratulations.

My confusion is why are comic book characters so important to so many people these days. I guess we need an anthropologist or some other human behavior specialist to explain this. Have we failed to put away childish things when supposedly reaching adulthood. Why do we have a need for superheroes?

Growing up in the 50s/60s we read comics until maybe 10 years old then moved on to Playboy magazine. This whole Marvel Universe totally escapes me.

I once read an essay by someone who said that males in modern society no longer have rites of passage so they fail to realize when moving on from childhood happens and how to cope with it.

Well I am pretty fed up with the superhero movie genre, stuff you could only dream about in the 90’s has not only materialized but flooded the movie industry, even Aquaman has a movie, it used to be a joke for crying out loud. I still think comics/graphic novels can be a great form. I recently read Alan Moores Providence series and can highly recommend it, not your avarage super hero saga though.
