Tudor drops its title sponsorship of IMSA in 2016

Maybe the U.S. Sales numbers for Tudor are having a slump? Last night IMSA announced Tudor will remain the official IMSA timepiece but has been replaced in 2016 as title sponsor by WeatherTech.

Title sponsorships are as much as 10x more than other lower level sponsors. Just wondering if Tudor is already in a belt tightening mode?

Rolex renewed their title sponsorship with IMSA for the 24 hours of Daytona so no marketing pullback there.

Maybe that was the plan from the beginning. Being the official time piece grants a lot of exposure, after making the big sponsorship splash.

It could be that Grady. Tudor's likely goal was to build brand awareness among different demographic segments with enough disposable income to engage with them, yet not so much income that they'd skip right over Tudor to Rolex or AP or other brands.

Their marketing metrics may have spelled that out from gitgo and they learned the objective wasn't going to be achieved with another large outlay in motorsports.
