Free repair on my old Tag Professional- 80s…
I have a 1980s Tag Professional 1000 battery watch that I got new. It’s really a cheap looking wannabee GMTII, like a distant cousin maybe. Anyway, it’s been a daily workhorse watch for me, diving, bicycle, hikes/long distance running, etc., however it recently began stopping, and restarting.
I stopped by a mall kiosk and the guy checked the movement for free, he added something, removed some old silicon, and now it works fine. I will go back and see if he can fix the date and do a full movement check, buff out the stainless, etc.. Quite a deal I’d say… |

That was very nice of him. Just curious, how big is that watch?

Thanks for showing interest in my 80's relic. Someone with the same watch online listed the size as: 37.25mm x 44.75.
The unique part of this watch is the green dial, and how glows in the right low light. The funny thing is that it looks too small by today's standards... Once I get date fixed, and the watch fully cleaned, I will probably unload it, though it's not worth much, so we'll see. Once I upgrade to a GMTII this watch will never get worn... It was a gift from an old girlfriend, so the wife will be happy to see it gone...! |

Nice TAG! It looks like one of those F1's, but with a Submariner bezel.

Datewheel fixed...
I can't remember if I posted this, but they fixed the date wheel, did full service on the movement...

Nice that you found someone who could repair it and not charge an arm/leg.
Here's my 80's TAG relic. Black Coral circa 1988. :) Still gets worn about 2-3 times a week. Cheers, B.
