New addition

Not sure this qualifies as vintage but thought it might as a 5 fig 16000 series. Its a 16220 from 2005 F series. It arrived today, i know by many the DJ is dismissed as entry level, inferior to the sports models. But as another thread has shown it is one of the most enduring and recognisable rolexes around.

Looks nice! I like the dial configuration on oyster. Datejusts have soooo many looks. This one is a looker!

Great dial - don’t late anyone discourage you about a watch that makes you happy. I have this dial on an Oyster bracelet also (but with white gold bezel) and the dark gray version on Jubilee and love them both. Over time I wear them less, but I would never let them go as they were the first in my collection. Enjoy it!

Absolutely not. Anybody who says that doesn't know what they're doing. The DateJust is a timeless classic.

Nobody should dismiss the DJ or DD as entry level. They are my go to choices for getting dressed up. I would never wear a sub or sports model with a suit, unless we are talking about a 16618.

Great looking watch and a dial a need to add to my collection at some point. I share the sentiments already expressed regarding Datejust watches. They aren’t cheap. They look fantastic. And, given that I am not a diver, explorer, pilot, or in any of the other occupations the sport watches are made for, Datejust just work. I hope you enjoy it for years to come.

Wow! Lovely! Gotta love the 78360 bracelet on a 5-digit DJ. Great buy!

I love the engine turned bezel datejusts. The tapestry dial is a nice complement. Way to go.

Timeless classic. Congrats!

True watch lovers don't dismiss DJs. I don't think there's a Rolex model that's endured as long and has been as successful as the 36mm DJ.

Congrats on your beautiful Datejust! It looks in an amazing condition - maybe unpolished!
To spice things up you could order a brand new jubilee for a new look!
