It is a sweet watch, love the tan strap and the hobnail on the case. But if it was not on your priority list, so be it. Not stupid, pas du tout.

If it does not sing to you, you absolutely made the right decision imho. Can’t wait to get one myself and, as in my experience is always the case with PF, it was even more gorgeous when I tried it in a PF salon last month. Those waiting times…

Oh boy that would have been tough. It’s a chunk of change but man I like it a lot.

You can prob always get one so don’t beat yourself up. There’s not a huge premium is there?

A nice watch with a very appealing case.

We are always very tempted by the latest novelties, especially knowing they are slow to come out during the first 2 years. Nearly a FOMO effect. It's still expensive, there are many nice Pateks to get and will be other novelties that might be thrilling in the months (October?) and years to come.

I guess if it was one of the watches you have on your top-list you would know (maybe :p).

No, I don’t think it was a bad decision.

I tried to get one from my AD and they were very non committed to getting me one, went grey and paid a small premium over msrp. I love it, so for me, yes you passed on a good one. But if you didn’t want it, why is passing a bad decision? Not a huge margin on it from secondary market so only reason it would be a bad decision from what you are saying is from a “investment” standpoint and there isn’t much there. So again, why would this be a mistake by you? If you didn’t really want the watch, passing is the right thing so that someone who does actually want it, can get it.

Did you ask for it? If not, why feel silly over your decision. I stand by the principle of buying what I love. Was offered a 5167A but I passed. I didn’t quite like it, notwithstanding the hype over it!

Stupid? Absolutely not

As others stated there is no need to spend 41k just for the sake of buying a watch

Unless you asked for it. Then I'd have questions as to why you changed your mind

I agree with the first part of this …

However, if you asked for it I wouldn’t go so far as to say stupid decision, but your AD may have second thoughts about how serious you are

Why spend 41k on a watch you apparently do not want.

I mean its a pretty cool watch but if its not your cup of tea, then i could understand. Would you rather wear a more classical dress watch? If this isnt you, what would a you watch be?

I like more sporty models, like nautilus or aquanaut line.

Am I stupid?

Answer is — it depends. If you suddenly like it later on and it becomes harder to get, answer is yes. Otherwise, it’s a correct and wise decision.

If you don't like it, you don't like it. Wonderful watch however. Wouldn't be worth my divorce that would be sure to follow however.
