Incoming from AD! and story

I've managed to acquire a Submariner 114060 from AD after about 6 months of craziness. I'm blown away by the watch, it's an absolute beauty. I was thinking about going for a 5 digit sub, but I'm glad I didn't in the end.

Some of you may remember my post a couple weeks back about my terrible AD experiences and my difficulty in buying a SS sports model (just like everyone). I wrote a post on my blog about it here: https://www.watchreviewblog.com/role...orized-dealer/

I ended up driving to a different province because I was getting nowhere with my local ADs. I bought a Tudor 1926 for my GF from this new AD and really connected with the sales rep and rest of the staff at the store. One week later I received the text for the Submariner.

So basically the hoops you need to jump through to get one of these pieces is just crazy. You need to be persistent, spend a little money, and get creative if you want to buy direct from the AD. If not just save your time and buy grey.

Going to pickup a Davidoff cigar today and perhaps a bottle of Scotch to celebrate the purchase, and then it's back to business as usual with Sub on wrist!

Cheers! Not in London at the moment. It's an AD in Ontario

Good stuff, glad it finally worked out and you got your Sub, frustration over - for now.

Definitely more incomings of late, I got lucky a couple of weeks ago.

Congrats. I know you've gone back and forth on what to buy on here for a while. Glad it all came together. The ceramic Submariner every day over the Ceramic Sub Date. Good choice!

Thanks man! Yes I was really hoping the AD would come through with the no date, so happy that worked out.

Yep one of the main reasons I went for this one, it's almost like a modern re-issue of the original. Cant stop staring at it.

I have been following your story and search, very happy for you! I have the same one and absolutely love it. Love your persistence as well. You added an absolute icon to your arm. As you suggested, allow yourself time to celebrate, and then back to work!

Congrats, and love the ND dial for that classic Rolex style and great visual balance.

Congratulations, that's the Sub to go for! It´s been said thousands of times before ad nauseam but the clean no-date Submariner really is iconic, timeless etc.! I've never tired of my 1996 14060, and you won't tire of your 114060! Wear it in health! My 14060 (your 114060´s granddaddy!) says hello:
