5522 Prices

Looks like they keep going up on Chrono24 with listing prices in the mid 50s for unworn and high 40s for pre-owned.

However when talking to dealers, it seems they are saying the market is slow. However when looking at dealer websites (Govberg, Keystone, etc) they are all sold out.

What is the story? They aren't being advertised.

Frankly I never found chrono 24 to be reliable for pricing, in particular for limited editions and such. Many of the listings seem to me to be dealers trying to create and pump up the market more than anything else.

I have not specifically looked at 5522 so not sure but just talking generally.

If you bought it second hand it won’t be worth more than you paid is my guess

If the 5711, ceramic Daytona, and Pepsi GMT had a baby it still wouldn’t be as rare and as desirable as the 5522.

Possibly another 700 to Asia in 2019 fall. Not too sure how Patek is going to allocate 700 5522s between the 6 distributors in Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and China (total 1.5bn population).

The Grand Exhibition will be in Singapore though.

I have no relationships with any ADs in Asia. They can't ever sort me out with a damn watch as some Chinaman will be offering MSRP + market value + 10% on top.

If you want that 5522 badly, either build a relationship with an AD from now to next fall 2019, or go grey.

IMHO no one is buying these at $45k. No one is buying at 35K. One just came up at Auction in April 2018 and failed to meet the opening bid of $35k.

This may sound counter intuitive. If they release another variant of the 5522 in Singapore, my personal opinion is the demand and price would INCREASE. The Singaporeans and Asians would buy it out and they would come looking for the US pieces to either get their first or to complete their pair.

If you can get for low 30s I would buy. Probably won’t buy over 40k tbh

lol I doubt it. I doubt there will be another Pilot seeing as they just released the 5524R which don't seem to exactly be flying off the shelves.

you know we can count on a Singapore skyline world time though!

Hopefully something else fairly unique (like the 5522 was) is coming.

Ok, I will pray for a 5710/1P or 1/A (successor to 3710) limited to 300 pieces. A perfect watch for a humid and hot country, and it should fly off the shelf.

Thank you very much, Mr Stern!

Like that idea.

Also Would be cool for patek to make a 15202 equivalent with no running seconds like the3700 and have the 5711 be the 15400 equivalent.

I was thinking about not Patek but if Rolex made a vintage looking red sub with 904L steel but with acrylic crystal, tritium lume, and red text along with aluminium bezel. However glidelock clasp and solid end links but with the smaller case. Folks would go nuts.

As well add some diamonds - those IF types - in red and white (transparent).

It will be starting on 28 Sep 2019, at Marina Bay Sands, for a duration of 14 days.

perfect I know the place very well, I lived 4 years in SG and still going there for work every 4 months.

Very very exciting, I am curious to see how to get ticket to entry to this show.
Anyone been to the one in NY or London ?

As well I might finally buy with my first PP if there is a Singapore edition of the WT or another watch (at a price under USD $ 60k).

Should I talk to AD Singapore already about it, to be sure to get the special edition model you think.
