Had a Belgian stout with hints of coffee and caramel last night, 'De Zwarte Zwaan' aka the black swan.

It was pretty damn great

Jai alai is great when fresh. One of my go tos when I need a 6 pack in a hurry at a grocery store.

I'm a big whisky fan, mostly of the peaty/smokey scotch. I've had the big Japanese ones, Yamazaki 12, 18, nikka from the barrel, Hibiki 17, never bought any of them though as they are priced astronomically nowadays..

My lineup needs Ardbeg 10, Lagavulin 16 and Glenfarclas 18 or 21. Those are the bottles I will buy over and over again.

Another day, another Belgian beer: Fort Lapin double.

Not the best 'dubbel' I've had, but not bad either.

You’re making me miss my time in Belgium! Nothing like having the local ales there

I need to get back to Belgians. When I first started out 5-10 years ago I drank a lot of Belgian stuff because the beer scene in the states was not as developed. It’s been nothing short of a revolution the past decade and now it’s tough to not drink stuff made nearby.

I could probably get lost down a rabbit hole if I visited Belgium. Doubles, triples, quads

No pics but I had a bitburger while grilling and then a treehouse Impressionism imperial stout after dinner. To be honest this stout was not treehouses best work. B-

I can’t decide if I’m over juice bombs yet or if I may never be over them. Kind of like bigger watches juice bombs are here to stay (looks down at AP 44)

Funny you should say that... I was just thinking I miss "kind-of-juicy" NE style IPA/IIPA's and not beers that taste like juice Could be the weather. Seems this time of year I gravitate towards Belgian Quads... more savoury than thirst quenching. Picked up a few Rochefort 10's, St. Bernardus Abt. 12's, and Tripel Karmeliets today.

edit: nothing wrong with an AP 44, though ;>

Got a few of them as well yesterday, I was told it tastes a lot like Westvleteren (holy grail, but I'm not paying€15 for a bottle of beer...).

Honestly, it tastes so similar I refuse to pay the mark up for Westvleteren 12 anymore. Over here you’d be lucky to get a West12 (330ml) for under $30 whereas you can get 750ml bottles of St. Bernardus for about $10.

Another great beer from St. Bernardus is the Prior 8! Was lucky to try that out of a fresh cask while in Ghent last. Fabulous ale.
