Wearing Rolex in Asia

Hi,
i live in Malaysia and i wear my Rolex everyday.
BUT, when i visit costumers i newer wear my Rolex, there is no need for it, many persons i encounter during my tips around south east Asia can't afforded a decent car, i fly low and make a better impression.

this especially in Vietnam, the persons you will have contact will invite you, they are not rich, so please leave the Rolex in California.

unless you deal exclusively with the owner of the company, in this case it will be Ok because he will have a watch equal to greater than yours.

If you're worry about it, then don't wear it, otherwise just wear it.

Most people can't tell a Rolex from a Guess watch or any other brand of watch anyway, so personally, I won't worry about it.

At the airport, I always remove my watch (and belt and wallet too) and put the watch and wallet inside my shoulder bag. I do it all the time and I'm used it, so it doesn't bother me at all.

Like everywhere, have some situational awareness and you'll be fine.

Most will probably think you're wearing a replicator anyways. There's an abundance of them from the markets =D

I would bring it with me when I travel to asian countries like Japan, Hongkong, Singapore, Australia. but Vietnam, no.

It's all personal preference here IMO. If I am going to be worried even at 1% about my watch getting stolen in a country, I wear my Casio. That's what I have done many times and it was worry free. What's the point of going to a foreign country and having to worry about your watch vs. enjoying the new sights? My 2 cents.

I sometimes wonder why some buy Rolex watches if they are going to have stress and worry about wearing a watch in places like Asia.I wonder what the millions of Rolex watch wearers in Asia feel about wearing the Rolex watches daily.If you are worried simple answer just leave your Rolex home,but perhaps then you would worry just encase you got burgled.

I took three of my Rolex watches when we visited Vietnam.

I remember the Rolex AD next to the lake.

They had a BLNR available but slightly above retail and I had already passed on one in Oz.

Didn’t give much thought to wearing one.

My wife may have ‘cos she had the other two in her bag.

Some allow possessions to rule their lives

As for my previous post perhaps the OP should discuss with their employer about being sent somewhere they feel unsafe?

+1. There are a few obvious exceptions, but most other countries have significantly less crime than the good ol' USA.
