Icon2 Great New Watchfinder & Co Video

Nice to see Seiko mechanical movements getting credit for outperforming Rolex and all other Swiss brands in the 1960s.

I watched this a couple of days ago, fantastic video. Not sure how I feel about the GS featured in the video. The busy dial, the size, the price tag...however you cannot deny it is one incredibly built watch. Just stunning quality.

Great New Watchfinder & Co Video

Thanks Adam
I agree with one point 100%. “There are no right or wrong answers.” But a GMT Daytona with Power Reserve indicator isn’t an answer to solve a gnawing problem methinks.

My take: Just because you can doesn’t mean you should, Seiko.

The GS Chrono-GMT does something Rolex could consider. Ditch the Tachymeter scaled bezel on the Daytona in favor of a rotating 2nd TZ with a 12hr. Scale. No racers are using the Tachymeter.

No new complication required in the 4130 but an additional value-added function for racers who are often competing at a track far from home.

I‘ve just told a friend of mine and massive Rolex fan and GS hater, that the Swiss better watch out that history is not repeating itself.

The Swiss sit on such a high horse for some time now, it‘s about time that someone seriously is kicking their butts.

And Seiko seems to be determined just to do that - again!

There's also the tiny little issue that you can't actually walk into a store and, ya know, BUY a Rolex right now.

You look at the Rolex forum on this board right now and it is a pretty miserable place. Despite Rolex's extreme brand desirability this absurd situation has to be driving potential buyers away in droves.

This is a big moment for Omega, Seiko/GS, Breitling, etc. Can they take full advantage?

It's driving me away and starting to leave a bad taste in my mouth. Not the unavailability per se. Just the absolute cluster that is around the Rolex brand right now. Huge turn off that Rolex is the new ticket scalper honey pot.

I feel the same way. It's like a dark cloud over the brand. I do wonder how much of it is just the fact that I'm fully aware of how bad the situation is because I'm active on the forums. However then I think about the guy who knows nothing and walks into the local Rolex AD because he just got a new job and wants to treat himself to a Sub...

Yeah, Tudor has done that a few times over the years and I find it much more useful than a tachymetre.
