Agree most people don’t know.

But thieves know....

I see a ton of folks wearing gold colored watches. Only about 1 in 100 where I live seems to be an actual gold watch.

Same as where I live.

SS is SS regardless of brand. When I wore a SS Submariner no-one noticed. It is hard to determine real verses fake when walking around. But YG is expensive and most people wear colored metal. However Rolex YG stands out. When I switched to Rolex gold people started looking. Now I have a low cost Rolex SS for everyday wear. In LA you need to be aware of your surroundings!!

I would not worry a single bit.

I wear my gold DayDate everywhere I go. Markets, shopping centres, coffee, dinner in good areas and not so good areas.

As long as you are a little aware of surroundings you will be fine. A little street smart as they would say.

Many ppl wearing gold watches and 99.9% of ppl dont know if its real gold or fake.

My friend does the same with his DD. No worries. How about a 41MM all gold GMT Master?

i feel like with the amount of people wearing two tone/yg/rg colored watches these days most people just don't really pay attention or care, and if they do notice i doubt anyone will immediately assume its a rolex

whenever i wear my daydate i don't really see most people noticing it, but it still makes you feel a bit different because you know how much you're wearing on your wrist

Just got it back, but haven’t been able to do much. Had a bad accident and broke 6 ribs, collarbone, scapula, collapsed and detached my lung. The watch isn’t a high priority right now. Had another surgery this week to plate my collarbone. I’m down and out for a while.

I wore a yellow gold Day date 36 for several years. Awesome watch. Wore a yellow gold Patek 5036 for several years as well. I stopped wearing yellow gold a while ago because of the flash factor. Not appropriate for my career but can’t argue. Gold on the wrist is amazing.

Wise words: same thing with dressing. Wearing a suit you also have to be a little street smart.

I was in Buenos Aires Airport American Airlines Check-in and the power went out. The military took over for four hours due to terror threats. Everyone was frisked. Glad I wore a Seiko.

Traveled internationally on business for 10 years to remote locations. James Bond could wear a Submarine. But for me, don’t be noticed or kidnapped.

Personally I love PM Daytona’s and Day Dates - they’re the references that just ‘fit’ I guess. My others have always been stainless (i.e. Subs, SD as well as the stainless Daytona along with many other brands — and a couple two tones - but those quintessential ‘tool’ watches to me should be stainless (at least if I’m going to ‘use’ them. I think I’d have a tough time diving with a PM sub — although I’ve toyed with the idea over the years!!!

Now what has REALLY been on my radar is a 15202 OR — that might be my end game PM watch!!
