Sounds like something I did throwing a Ducati down the road many years ago. I will bet you were wearing full face helmet, and high sided. Close?

Been thinking about buying a YG for many years. My main concerns are that it would be too loud and it would scratch easily.

If I was to bite the bullet one day, I would go for the black dial Sub, or a President with Roman numerals.

That’s stunning—the one that I am seriously thinking... How long you’ve had that watch? Still loving it without the feeling ”too yellow, too loid”? What’s your rotation?

For me the problem is that I have to live with the watch for a while to know if it’s too loud for me.... with yg watches this might be very expensive experiment....

I have owned DD's, Submariners, GMT, and Daytona's in YG. I have always enjoyed the look and the feel of the watches and when I have bought right I have only lost a little on sale or trades. I currently own a YG DD II and it is my only PM watch. I have owned several in the collection at one time but based on what I have in them I prefer to spread the money across a broader collection.

Wooooow!!! Stunning!!!
Yeah; maby there is a certain limit for PM watches in one collection.
Actually some TT might fill the yg gap in collection. For example: TT Sky Dweller with champagne dial brings the beauty of yg in a nice way—if you compare that to full yg Sky Dweller, there is not that much difference IMO. But the price...

I actually only wear my DD40 on the weekends with a T-shirt, jeans, and sneakers. Tones it down to me LOL.

Don’t wear it work because it wouldn’t make sense to put that message out there. One of the guys at work recently called me out when I had my SS DJ41 on. I was being cheap about something and he says “you wear a Rolex and you’re being cheap” I told him “you figured out how I can afford it.”

Anyway so it depends on where you going to wear it and how.

Bicycle crash and I have zero memory of it. I briefly came to in the ambulance, then in the ER before surgery, and finally woke up in the room. Only damage to the bike was a bent derailleur hanger. Zero scratches and I had absolutely no road rash. The absolute strangest crash I’ve ever had.

I have five all gold watches including two Pateks, and am truly happy to have them. I would not have felt the same twenty or thirty years ago because of an extremely active lifestyle, but now, family time, dining out, and volunteering take up most of my days.

I hope everything will turn out well for you. That was a horrific crash. I know from experience, you will be hurting for some time. Take it easy for a while and return with a vengeance!

I will give you my thoughts and experience on YG Rolex. Firstly, gold is beautiful. Rolex watches are beautiful in YG and really no one does a two tone watch like Rolex IMO.

I have a TT Sub Bluesy which is an incredible reference. You can feel the weight of the gold vs my Sub C. I came to the conclusion I wanted to buy a YG model and started searching. First off, which model? I narrowed it to the DD or a Submariner.

Upon trying them all on several times I learned a few things. First, I did not like the way the YG Sub C looked. While I love the maxi case on my 114060 and 116613LB, it was just too much for me in YG. Beautiful yes but too much for me. The next thing that surprised me was I found the DD40 too much as well. I have 7.25 in wrists and can carry the 40, but to me it felt like a huge gob of gold. Again beautiful, but I felt it had the same brash look of the Sub C, which isn't for me.

So it came down to either a 36mm DD or a five digit YG Sub LN. I went with the DD and have no regrets. It wears extremely well and has a restrained elegance if I can call it that? (is any gold watch restrained) I wear it daily in the fall/winter months and occasionally through the summer when the outfit works. There is something special, that feeling you get for 10 seconds when you strap on a gold piece. The weight of the gold, how the president bracelet wraps around your wrist with it's heavy mass. I really enjoy that.

So these are just my personal experiences and preferences. All the watches I have talked about are great and if you want to rock any of them go for it. I would never say the ones I don't prefer are bad choices, they are just not for me and I love seeing them on other people. I am contemplating moving my Bluesy along for a five digit YG sub, but we shall see. A few pics of my DD below. I hope you go for it, Rolex YG really is amazing.

Here’s a comparison of the three precious metals. They are all beautiful in their own way. If I had to pick only one PM watch to wear forever, it would be the YG Submariner. Since I’m blessed enough to have several, I absolutely love the SkyDweller in yellow gold. At 42mm, it’s an impressive watch.
