Don’t wear it work because it wouldn’t make sense to put that message out there. One of the guys at work recently called me out when I had my SS DJ41 on. I was being cheap about something and he says “you wear a Rolex and you’re being cheap” I told him “you figured out how I can afford it.”

Anyway so it depends on where you going to wear it and how.

People and their comments......
But what a watch you have!!! The Watch!! Looking good!!

I will give you my thoughts and experience on YG Rolex. Firstly, gold is beautiful. Rolex watches are beautiful in YG and really no one does a two tone watch like Rolex IMO.

I have a TT Sub Bluesy which is an incredible reference. You can feel the weight of the gold vs my Sub C. I came to the conclusion I wanted to buy a YG model and started searching. First off, which model? I narrowed it to the DD or a Submariner.

Upon trying them all on several times I learned a few things. First, I did not like the way the YG Sub C looked. While I love the maxi case on my 114060 and 116613LB, it was just too much for me in YG. Beautiful yes but too much for me. The next thing that surprised me was I found the DD40 too much as well. I have 7.25 in wrists and can carry the 40, but to me it felt like a huge gob of gold. Again beautiful, but I felt it had the same brash look of the Sub C, which isn't for me.

So it came down to either a 36mm DD or a five digit YG Sub LN. I went with the DD and have no regrets. It wears extremely well and has a restrained elegance if I can call it that? (is any gold watch restrained) I wear it daily in the fall/winter months and occasionally through the summer when the outfit works. There is something special, that feeling you get for 10 seconds when you strap on a gold piece. The weight of the gold, how the president bracelet wraps around your wrist with it's heavy mass. I really enjoy that.

So these are just my personal experiences and preferences. All the watches I have talked about are great and if you want to rock any of them go for it. I would never say the ones I don't prefer are bad choices, they are just not for me and I love seeing them on other people. I am contemplating moving my Bluesy along for a five digit YG sub, but we shall see. A few pics of my DD below. I hope you go for it, Rolex YG really is amazing.

Thanks for your thoughts!!

I felt the same with yg sub: just alittle bit too much for me.

Ihave dd in rg and I just love it. But I feel that 2 dd’s is too much. At this point I am thinking daytona yg with green or sky dweller tt or full yg...

That dd you have: CONGRATS!! Beauty!

To most people, they graduate into YG/WG. Where they add a gold watch after owning a couple ss. So statistically you’ll find less hold watches owners than ss. Also the price makes it a step up. So by pure numbers you’ll have more ss owners than gold owners which doesn’t mean it’s less desired watch but it’s a “select” watch
To me I admire many gold rolexes but don’t see myself owning one....... will see

I am torn by the YG Skyd and the GMT with the diamond onyx bezel.

WOOOOW!!! What a trio!!! Triple congrats!! That is simply amazing that skydweller!! It seems that you can’t get a new one with that dial. How is the dial: it seems that you can see everything very clearly? Great pics, thanks for sharing!!!

It’s an amazing reference (DEFINITELY LOUD)— mostly I wear my Stainless pieces as ‘daily wearers’ across the brands. Honestly my 114060 is the Rolex that gets the most wrist time of all of them - then maybe my DJ41....

Thank you! You are right, they discontinued this model. The new models come with baton markers. I actually prefer the Romans, but Some say the new model’s dial is “cleaner”. I like the dressier look.

I would be comfy with a TT Daytona, since I do not like the date function. WG it perfect, but I cannot afford it (I spend way too much on motorcycles ).

Good logic. I wear my TT to formal events and feel it’s the best of both worlds. Excellent price point and style. In my world I do have formal engagements. Normally I wear SS.

Right now the market is so hot for sport SS, TT can be purchased on a bargain.

Nothing like a full yellow gold Rolex no doubt about it.. I feel my YMII and Sky are more special than even my platinum Ddii, the feel/presence is unmatched (same can be said for rose gold too I guess) however i like the tone/color of the yellow...

I have a DD40 Champagne Dial in YG and I wear it as part of my weekly rotation. I am considering upgrading my TT Daytona for full YG Daytona as I love the look, you cant beat it. WG and RG have never done it for me. YG all the way :)

I have two YG pieces. One was my father's 60s Bulova and the other my 1803 Day Date. I've had the Day Date identified as yellow gold and received some unrequested comments about it. I try to wear it when it is a special occasion and not frivolously.
