Is this 16610 polished or not?
Wanted to see your thoughts on this watch. I am looking to buy this 16610 Z serial in a few days, but despite the owner claiming the watch has never been polished, the entire watch looks as if it was polished heavily with no due care (too shiny).
Maybe it's a lighting issue or maybe not. What do you think? Should I just stay away and not waste my time? Screenshot_20180923-120117_Chrome.jpg Screenshot_20180923-121044_Chrome.jpg Screenshot_20180923-121032_Chrome.jpg |

True. Let me see if I can find a way to upload higher resolution pictures.

It was polished, but only the flip-lock section of the clasp, late on a thursday afternoon, sometime just after mid-spring, using a Kleenex brand tissue and a little bit of spit. By the looks of it, I'd say three strokes up, and two down.

Hi res is key with special attention on the case side edges. Even though Rolex stood putting a large chamfer on their cases ages ago, there is still a very slight chamfer which would be relatively sharp if never polished. Bezel edge is another good indicator.

Based on what I can see I would say the bracelet has definitely been polished and from the looks of it, quite poorly. It looks horrible in that last pic but again, may be due to poor lighting.

How is it even possible to take pictures that are so bad in this day and age? If the seller provided these pictures, then he or she is hiding something. Buy some other watch.

Well, seeing how the sides of the case appear way shinier than the beat up
looking bracelet, I'm going with polished. |

This watch has been "polished" in that somebody has rubbed and cleaned and smoothed down the grain finish. It does not appear that it has been actually refinished or power-polished as some used to be. Don't buy into the "never-polished" crowd. A properly refinished case and bracelet is almost impossible to tell from new or mint and will add value to a thrashed example.
