Someone please talk some sense into me!

Hey all, I just realized maybe this would be more appropriate here in the vintage thread since it concerns a vintage tudor. Sorry for the initial misplacement!

I would keep the Tudor for the simple reason that nice examples are getting harder and harder to find…

Keep that Tudor! Clayton nails the reason why.

This is way harder than I expected! Folks answering in the Breitling thread all say sell the Tudor... people answering here in the vintage thread say sell the Ling... haha!

Now that can't come as too much of a surprise.

Unless I am mistaken, the Breitling is a newer watch that is relatively easy to find…
The tudor, not so much…
You can always find other Breitling, but a nice Tudor…Not as easy...

I definitely agree with the thinking that is... keep whatever is rarer... but I know that this particular Breitling is only 1 of 1000 limited pieces. Which makes me think it might be harder to find again later down the line. Then again, there are probably even less all original 7016/0s out there no?

I think the Tudor is a much better looking watch. The Breitling is more "unique" but to me isn't a classic in any sense of the word. Do you think the "stencil font" numbers are going to be considered classic down the line? The Tudor is already a classic!

I know you love your Breitling (so I'm not going to comment on it in detail unless you ask me to), but there are so many things that stand out to me (not in a positive way) that make me think that the bling of the Breitling will wear thin on you over the years, and the Tudor will remain strong.

Chances are you'll find a new breitling you'll like for not much more than the one you have. Limited edition and collectable arent to be mixed up. Plenty of LE watches depreciate just as fast and sometimes faster than their regular counterparts. Breitling has a huge following but they age like dogs. Hard to find a 10yr old breitling that looks fashionable in a modern sense. Yet my Rolex is 41 years old and people think its new when they see it

As much as I like Breitlings, especially that one, I'd keep the Tudor.I don't know how you feel about being comfortable wearing a hockey puck,I personally can't, and believe me I tried(PAMs,Blings,PO,Fortis)
The whole LE thing is kind of a rip off IMO, the resale value plummets.

Just because something is rare, doesn't necessarily mean you should keep it.
And it sounds like you like the Breitling more, and enjoy wearing it.
Personally, rare in the drawer does less for me than wow on the wrist.

All the best,
-GW

Depends on you. Don't keep something you don't wear. Let someone else enjoy it and get something you will give wrist time.

Keep what gets the most wrist time. No point keeping a watch that gets more safe time vs wrist time.
Never understood safe queens. If you want something to keep in a safe, buy gold and silver.
