ABC does it again!

Very excited to share with my vintage family here my mk1 maxi back from ABC. These guys are magicians! Came out even better than I had expected. Very pleased with the results. I highly recommend them!

Very nice results. Can you tell me if anything was done pertaining to the tritium on the dial or in the hands?

I was thinking of using them to color match my replacement 1675 hands to the original dial.

Any insight would be great.

Looks really superb, many congrats. Beautiful dial and patina. Really good job on refinishing the case. I wonder how they handled the split in the insert at the pearl. What else did they do - movement service, crystal and gaskets I guess?

The dial and hands were untouched, though I know that ABC can color match hands and have seen them do good work in the past with other watches. The tritium dot on my watch was sourced and matched and I think they did a good job at that. In terms of dial color and hands, its just a waiting and searching game. It took me a very long time to find this piece, after they reprofiled the crystal the patina has shown through even better.

I would give Edvi a call at ABC and send him some photos of your 1675. First ask if they have any hands in stock that match your dial. Also check the forum, perhaps someone has some for sale...If not, you could have them match a set. Good luck with your 1675 and feel free to post some pics!!

Thanks! I know! I was surprised that they were able to handle that so well! I was worried it would interfere with the pearl installation but it does seem to have. They also did a full movement service, reprofiled the crystal and replaced the gaskets. I asked them to leave the original crown but I think they may have replaced the tube. Took a little longer to get back than I had anticipated, but it was quite a bit of work so it was understandable.

Thanks for clarifying - sounds and looks like it was in great hands. I'd certainly use them if I lived in the US. Enjoy!

Thanks for the information. I've talked to Edvi and he seems like a more than competent watch maker. Again, great looking watch.
