Personally of the three I prefer Rancourt, Oakstreet Bootmakers, and then Qouddy. All great quality however I don't personally like the more rounded look of Qouddy and their unusual lacing system. Besides not even sure how to go about replacing if ever needing to their laces which are sewn directly into the shoe.

Rancourt and Quoddy both can be Made To Order based on your specific preferences.

In the era of everything is a disposable off the shelf from either Walmart or Target and everything is a tennis shoe these are Old School great quality leather shoes.

I have a couple pairs of cole haan grand plus Essex (grey and blue) - they're pretty cheap right now ~$60.
Allbird Tree Dashers
Hari Mari/Peter Millar flip flops

For basically everything else (other than wearing a suit) I'm in Gucci/Ferragamo drivers.

All of the above cover a ton of casual bases

For me this is a perfect example of something I will not buy. Cheap and more than likely won't last and when they do won't look as nice for very long.

I'm much more willing to pay the price of admission for something much better will last much longer and look much nicer as well. For me this is also a value proposition as well. Sometimes you actually do get what you pay for. For me it's quality over quantity every day of the week and twice on Sundays.

I would avoid runners (unless at the gym), flip-flops/thongs (unless at the beach), and espadrilles like the abovementioned Toms (for that vibe, get a decent loafer instead).

I've got a few pair of Clark's desert boots. They are so comfortable, and always get positive remarks as most people haven't seen them for 30+ years.

Anything made from shell cordovan leather.
Those manufacturers are above the crease.

Just ordered these last month. Minnetonka moose hide driver moccasins. Very casual and comfortable. The quality of the leather is fantastic

+1 for Olukai, it's about all I wear in the summer.

Have my share of shell in both shoes and boots and even a pair of boat shoes in shell, but a good pair of calf shoes and especially antiqued calf has tons more character than shell.

I've stopped wearing shoes since this lockdown thing begun and now work from home. Trainers for me.

However, my current favourite casual shoe brand is Officine Creative.

I’m now in the habit of running most of my fashion questions past Dan (dddrees) and bookmarking most of his forum suggestions for future reference. I say this with caution though. I think I’m about 20 days into my latest Dan inspired custom footwear waitlist.

I'm just glad to hear you found some help in any of my recommendations. When purchasing the majority of my footwear the best place I found to seek advice and where all the real enablers were was on Styleforum. Hanging with those with much more experience than I. Not only with brands and most had a thread of their own but sizing as well. Never the best because sizing should all take place in person but because of my location was not always possible. Knowing my Brannock size and establishing my fit in some very common footwear with Alden and some others also helped and I am blessed with an average size feet which I am certain which made it much easier as well. BY the way sizing for shoes such as Rancourt and such not that difficult but if in doubt Rancourt I think still offers an option to try on some sort sizing shoes if necessary.

From Allen Edmonds to shoemakers like Edward Green, John Lobb, Gaziano and Girling, and Saint Crispins I was hooked.

There's just nothing that compares to wearing quality made anything and that most certainly includes not only watches but footwear as well. I've actually received more compliments on my footwear than I have ever received on my watches which typically fly under the radar.

I don’t believe so. I know what you mean I had a pair of Prada chuck taylors that did that and it was a running joke about how it was a feature of my overpriced chucks lol

Fendi has been killing the shoe game for Men recently in my opinion! I only wear “sneakers” but they are far more comfortable than other price equivalent brands!

From a respectable New England cordwainer, I post my Alden suede loafers. I've got three pair but one is still in box, as the others refuse to fall apart. [The oldest pair, at a decade, were recrafted once by Alden; when they declined a second opportunity, a local chap resoled them.]

Alden unlined penny loafer, handsewn on the last. 6243F & 6244F • Glove soft suede calfskin upper.

If you like converse style, check out Altama OTBs. They are not “all hat, no cattle”, compared to a lot of the other stuff mentioned in this thread...

Sorry, but there are better looking as well as better made footwear out there. I purchased one pair of ferragamos very early on and they a far from being one of my better pair of shoes. So although they may have some better options or better lines of shoes for the most part I am unimpressed.

I like Frye.

Wearing a pair of York Athletics Henry Mid Canvas, for daily kicks lately. They're so light you can't tell you wearing them!
