Dopp kits

Looking to buy a new Dopp kit. I like the classic brown leather. Not really into Lv or other designer type bags that have logos all over them. Just something well made and under $300US or so. Thanks Gents!

Saddlebackleather.com

I like all their products. I have one of their dopp kits in waxed canvas and just about everything else in leather. Good luck.

I really like the bags from both Companies! Thanks a lot. I think I’m going to go with Saddleback leather. It’s exactly what I was looking for

Check out Defy bags. They make a great simple kit. I have the wax canvas version but they make it in leather. The leather bag I do have from them is amazing. They are hand made in Chicago and use Horween Leather. Defy also has amazing customer service.

Got curious and found this on Wikipedia

Dopp kit is a term particularly in use in the US for toiletry bags. The name derives from the early 20th century leather craftsman Charles Doppelt, whose company designed the case in 1926.

I’ve been happy with this. It’s just big enough to fit what I need for up to 2 weeks on vacation or business. Packs well.

It has a clamshell opening, sits open flat and 3 water resistant zip compartments (2 slim/long, 1 large)

Retails for about $100. OP 34mm, for reference.

Thank god I’m not the only one that had no idea what it was.

Grew up using the term, but never knew the origin

. . . . . until today

I too am a big fan of Saddleback products and have several. I have their large classic leather briefcase that is more than 12 years old and traveled the globe many times. Yet still looks relatively newer no matter how hard I try to "add character". Great products!
