Scratched my watch!
It had to happen!
I don't mind the scuffs from desk diving but I finally scratched my PO - on the polished bit too. And of all the places in the world it had to happen - it happened - believe it or not, in Vietnam, whilst I was on holidays, inside a tiny tunnel the Vietnamese guerillas created during the War. Anyone else have some funny stories on where/how they scratched their watch? Sorry - cannot upload the damn pic... so will try again soon.

i have a story... bought a 3570 during our belated honeymoon and the watch stayed in the hotel safe for days until wearing it on the day coming back to the UK. i have managed to put a scratch at 2 o'clock location on the heslite crystal with an hour of wearing it. to make it worse.... i was quite careful at the time and remembered i brushed it on one of the massive columns at the hotel restaurant now i have a few more, so will have to get the polywatch out one day |

My first two rolex were purchased pre loved therefore I did not have to worry about the first scratch. Now with my BNIB YM II I am careful that I am sure the first scratch will be like a kick in the nuts.

Cheers guys. Haven't tried cape cod cloth but it does look like rather deep scratches. Indeed it was like a kick in the gonads, but this watch is special as it was my first "nice watch" and I intend to pass it to my little boy - so I guess it will have a nice story to tell over the years to come - including where all the bloody scratches came from! : ) I still remember my shock when my left arm took that swipe again the wall - it was like holy XXXX - what have I done! Can only laugh about it now... Any one else with some funny watch scratch stories?

The tunnels are amazing. The size if the tunnel network is as large as Singapore! The contraptions they invented to they way they cooked food underground. Was all very interesting. The place is call cu chi tunnels. Def worth a visit. But take it from me it's very cramped and you should leave your fine Swiss watch at home.

I damaged the bezel and chipped a tiny piece off the cyclops on my brand new Sub, on the day I first wore it! I'd been to the AD on my bike, and when I got home, I noticed some crap on my engine. So, I decided to wash my bike. Need I say more? Nowadays the watch comes off! Doh!!!! I still haven't bothered getting it repaired, as it is only me that can tell, and, to be honest, it is a tool watch, and can handle a few knocks!

I once wore my Citizen Titanium Eco Drive when working on my computer, when I putting a cable out from HDD, I heard a horror noise of metal to metal contact.
I looked at my watch and saw a huge long scratch across the clasp. I wipe it when my finger, and the scratch is gone like nothing happened ... Citizen Duratect Ti is awesome :-) |
