Hamilton, any good?

Whilst browsing the watches in the sale at Ernest Jones I spotted this:

http://www.ernestjones.co.uk/webstor...men%27s+watch/

Thought it could be a good support watch to my Sub, especially at just over £300.

Anyone got any experience or views of the brand, or this watch in particular? It looks like great value on the face of it, but I don't know too much about Hamilton watches.

Thanks in advance.

It is a Khaki Xwind..
Very comfy and great quality..

Post a wrist pic if you get it..

I like Hamilton. I bought my dad a used Khaki once upon a time. They're nice. I do think you will find many nice looking ones for over $1K, but for this brand you will find the best bet below $1k.

With Hamilton you'll find good value for the money.

Dan is (as usual) correct. I gave this one to my Dad for Father's Day a few years ago shortly before he passed. I've been wearing it for the past several days.

The model you're looking at uses a Valjoux 7750, meaning it will be well made, and reliable time piece for years to come. I once owned a similar model.

Unfortunately they have all gone - not surprised at that price to be honest!

I was still after a watch to wear for running, cycling, working on the car and house etc. All the things I don't want to wear the Sub for, and something with a chronograph for the running.

G-Shocks seem pretty popular, so I decided to try one and ordered this:

£150 in the sales seemed a good deal, and it is solar powered and it has radio syncing for the time.

It is the opposite of the Sub (busy / load / electric) but should do the job well enough. It should be here tomorrow.

Nothing wrong with G-Shock, especially for sport activities, but Hamilton is really another class and story. Great watches, very well built by Swatch Group, with reliable ETA movements inside, both quartz and mechanical. Maybe the best value for money in watch world of today...
