Pricing for Red Letters sub/seadweller

Hello all:

New to the forum, but a longtime Rolex owner. Been thinking about buying a redletters sub or double red seadweller, and want excellent condition, authenticated with box and papers (if possible). What is the general price range for these types of pieces. I ask because there are so many around with such a wide range. Now, one of our forum members has one up on Ebay and before I throw away my money I'd like to know what the correct market is.

Any help is much appreciated. Best, Marty

Best to do some searches online to get today's price ranges, but for a complete 1680 red sub in excellent condition with B&P - expect to pay up to $15K and add about $10K for DRSD

Well Vincent is right in a certain way but on the other end there is a lot of grey between black and white when it comes to pricing those watches. Condition and rarity are key. A MK4 single red (no B+P) in poor condition can be USD 7k while a very good MK1 with B+P might be USD 25k. DRSD can fetch over 100k in certain cases.

the OP only mentioned wanting 'excellent' condition, and with B&P. Obviously a m-first would be more, and as stated there's such a wide range of variables, but I was giving rough estimates, and the $15K I suggested for a red 1680 was for a good f-first.
